"My Joe", I love you & grieve for you everyday still. You were my closest & dearest friend. I thought it would be forever, but I am thankful for the time we did have on this earth and I can't wait to see you again. I am so very proud of your family....you would be happy with them, but I know you watch over them. When it's my turn, Joe, I hope you come & carry me back home. Until that time, soar like an eagle. Love you always & forever.

Investigator Sapinoso was in my graduating 353 class at the SCCJA in 1996. 18 years later, I still remember him and still feel sadness knowing his life and career was cut short. To his family members, please take comfort that Antonio is not forgotten all these years later, even from people who briefly knew him. Law Enforcement is a tough profession and he paid the ultimate sacrifice. He will always be remembered and honored.

It has been quite some time now since your passing, there is never a time when I don't have you and grandpa Tony running through my thoughts... When I feel like I've lost all hope in the world I just remember you two are constantly watching over me and helping me with all my dilemmas, I'm in a very tough spot right now and I need the both of your blessings more than ever.. The family seems to be doing alright now, but this empty vessel in our hearts will never be replaced, only mended by the nostalgia and joy you both brought into our lives..

I give all my thanks to the Greenville County Sheriffs Officer for their hard commitment, and working hard to take these criminals off the streets and placing them behind bars where they belong. We all put our lives on the line to ensure a safer, better community.

Hey buddy. Me again. I really miss you. Whenever I have a crappy day, there are times I remember your approach. You would always have that smile on your face. I'll share with you a story that ALWAYS cheers me up. Do you remember the time we got absolutely hammered and we were eating at Denny's? What were you wearing? It was that god awful furry winter police hat I kept in the back seat of my car. And you were face down in a plate of pancakes with it on! Joe I wish I could share with you in person my accomplishments, my failures, and my close calls. Guess I'll just have to pray them to you. Hope things are going good up there. See you soon, just not today.

11 years later it's still just as hard as the day you left us. For my own selfish reasons I wish you were here to look at, to hold, to talk or listen to, but I have to believe that God needed you more. How lucky heaven is to have you both....we love and miss you so very much!

I love you, Joe. I can remember how much I held you up so high in my opinions. I wanted to be just like you. I even wanted my name to be Joe. I miss you, cousin. I will always remember you! You were the best of us all... All the cousins, you had the kindest heart and the nicest demeanor.

For Joe:

A smile can hide the tears,
A laugh can hide the pain,
But nothing stops the longing...to have you back again.

I miss you, love you, and carry you in my heart always.

I just learned about this. I used to take Tae Kwon Do with Joey at Jesse Williams Tae Kwon Do Plus on Haywood Road(1999-2001). I moved to Nashville, TN in July of 2001 after being in Greenville for 15 years.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. Joey was a such a kind, laid back person who seemed to get along with everybody. He was a great person to talk with about my Forensics Internship at the LEC with Sgt. Shaw, Sgt. Sherbert, Marty Clap, and Lt. Mike Petersen that I started in January of 2001 through Greenville Tech.

Joe Sapinoso was a cool cop. I am grateful to have known him. He was and will always remain a hero in the eyes of me.

Joe, may you rest in peace.

Joe,

My Friend. I have visited this site many times and have struggled to find the right words to share. Many thoughts come to my mind including great memories that we shared together. Always a smile and a kind word, even when they were not deserved.

What a tragic loss to every life that you touched. You are missed and I think of you often.

If this is the Joey Sapinoso from Gurnee Grade School, I am so very, very sad. I am an old classmate of Joe's who has thought about him a lot through the years. You don't remember someone after over 30 years unless they were someone special. You can't understand the grief I feel at finally finding him only to learn he is gone. He was an amazing person.
