Although I did not know Deputy Sherwood personally, I'd like to offer my condolences, through song...to anyone who desires to hear the Tribute Song,
"The Fallen"...originally written in memory of fallen Atlanta Police Officer Mark Cross.
"Thank You"...is...NEVER enough!

We must...NEVER FORGET!

"FREEDOM...IS...NEVER...FREE!"

I pray, this song of condolence, will be a blessing & bring comfort...in some small way, to his wife, 2 children, partner, all Atlanta Officers...and, anyone who hears it.

Feel free to share the sites/songs/photos, etc...with anyone you so desire....please, provide proper copyright info when sharing.

May something you hear, be a blessing to you & your's & lead to Christ.

" The Fallen " - ( RISE )"
(Susan D. Wiseman)

In Honor of & Dedicated to,

Atlanta Police Officer Mark Cross

" The Fallen "

Look at that face...behold that smile.
Beyond the tears...the question's..."why"?
Another life...has stepped aside,
To join the ranks...of..." The Fallen " line.

Where the Finest, Bravest, Strongest
men & women stand...
from across this land.

Where lives are laid...upon the line
As Duty calls...your friend & mine.

Look at that face...behold, this life.
And, believe...beyond..."The Fallen"...line.

The scripture says, in John 15: 13,
"Greater love hath no man than this,
that a man lay down his life for his friends."

Behold...your friend.

Beneath this flag...where Honor...lies,
"The Fallen" stand,
Where...Heroes...rise!

Behold..."My Friend".
"No Greater Love...has any man,
To lay his life, upon the line...
For a friend...such as, I.

"No greater love has any man."

Beneath this flag...where Honor...lies,
The fallen stand...as heroes rise
As we behold..."The Fallen"...line!

I Believe, Beyond,

"The Fallen"...RISE!

We are going to miss the state memorial service tomorrow. There is a little part of me that will miss the ceremony and the honor it represents but the mom in me knows we made the right decision. I let Meagan decide if she wanted to go to the ceremony or play her softball game. We decided together that you would be more proud to watch her play. I know we are right!!! We have three beautiful, strong, and smart little girls. They don't need a ceremony to show that they are proud you were their dad.

Son, I spent the day yesterday thinking of the day you came into this world. Minutes after 6:00pm. You really came in a hurry. I think/thought of all the good you have brought to this world, the beautiful children you and Katy have given us, and of course, Katy, who will always be part of our family. At that time, they whisked you away for 24 hours to make sure you were healthy. They did that to all the babies then. I hated that. Couldn't even hold you until then. And I can't hold you now. But I will always have the gift of calling you my son.

So many people believe that no one leaves this world until they have accomplished what they were put here for. I guess you did yours. We will never know how many lives you saved, and again, you gave us three beautiful little girls. I miss you so much...and sometimes get so angry that you are gone. Yesterday I even tried to believe this was an awful dream and you were really at home and I was just being weird. Didn't work. Reality sucks.

All I hope is that when my time comes, I will be worthy to see you in Heaven.

I love you so much.

The girls and I sent you balloons for your birthday. We watched them float to heaven - we watched until we couldn't see them anymore.

Kevin, you are deeply missed and I think of you so often. You are among angel heroes of our country and can never be forgotten. Rest in peace my friend. My thoughts remain with your family and pray they grow stronger each day as you watch over them. You were a top grade professional at CCSD and their department will never be the same.

Kevin - saw Katy do an amazing interview just about a week ago. Her strength will forever amaze me. Grace and style. She not only told all listening that the Kevin Sherwood Central Dispatch was an honor for her, your three beautiful angels, the rest of your family but she considered it a great dedication to all of us still on the road. Doing a job we love. Taking a chance every day that we could join you. It took a long time but you can see her smile again - not just on the surface but deep in her eyes. We all wondered and we all prayed that she would smile that smile again. I will never forget the time that you told me that Katy's smile could light up a room - make a bad day feel perfect. We will forever hold you in our hearts Kevin. We will forever honor your memory.

It has been many years since the 3 short years we spent in the 51st Infantry. What great times they were. I sure wish I would have given a little more effort trying to make contact before the day I was traveling south and seen a memorial sign in your name. I hoped it was for someone else. I was deeply saddened when I found this web page. My condolences to your family for such a great loss.
Your friend and fellow veteran.

Katy and the girls were absolutely beautiful today - but you already know that! You were there today when the Dispatch Center was dedicated in your memory! The sun was shining, and it was a beautiful day. I'm sure that was your sign to Katy that you were there right beside her and your daughters. Rest peacefully, blue angel. Never, ever to be forgotten.

Hi Kevin! I'm sure you don't remember me, but I met you when you were in the academy at Delta. I'm the one that your mom talked about in her latest reflection. She's right, you were very nice and cute too. I'm sorry that this had to happen, but I know everything is for a reason. Your mom is an amazing and beautiful woman. I'm very happy I got to meet her. She's very strong and kind! It was kind of ironic, another guy who was in the academy with you guys was in the news recently for getting hurt on the job. He's going to be ok, but it reminded me of back in the days of hanging out with you guys. Thank you for all you have done to make the residents of Michigan safe. God Bless your family. P.S. Could you say Hi to my cousin Ryan Seguin? He's the new guy up there, and we miss him down here. I bet he's already been telling you stories and making you laugh!

Just writing to say that we are still thinking about you up at the department. The Explorer program started back up, I was elected to the highest ranking Cadet position possible (Captain) and I intend on trying to dedicate some kind of event to your honor. I am not sure which, yet, but I will dedicate something for you. May you keep us safe from above, sir.
