On September 13, 2003 we lost one of our finest in Montgomery County Maryland, and on that day heaven got one of their finest. You were serving the public, and watching over the county the day you past away. Now you will serve god, and watch not over the county, but over the world as you sit as an angel in heaven. God Bless.

Montgomery County, MD.

I was shocked to learn about Lt. Mattingly's death on this website, instead of on the news or in the newspaper. I'm very sorry that another officer was killed in the line of duty for his department and the state of Maryland. The Montgomery County Police Department is a good agency, and I'm sorry they are suffering this loss. God bless Lt. Mattingly's family, he will never be forgotten.

I am Mamawolf aka Marilyn Robinson from our Chat room known as Support Our Officers, WolfPack Family.
We have this room in honor of one of our chatters that was killed June 1st of this year. She was the only k-9 Officer in the Pittsburg area of Pennsylvania. She and her partner were killed by a drunk driver driving an 18 wheeler.
She was full blooded Cherokee and was born under the sign of the Sacred White Wolf.
Because of her passing this room is in honor of all of our brothers and sisters in all Professional Safety personnel.
We as a chat room family send our prayers, and deepest sympathies to his family and friends and his sisters and brothers in blue.
What would we ever do without them. We know they put their lives on the line for the rest of us to be able to go to sleep in peace 24/7 365 days a week.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say.

But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.

I'm writing this from Heaven. Here I dwell with God above.

Here, there's no more tears of sadness; Here is just enternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.

Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.

That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through

God picked me up and hugged me and he said,'I welcome you.

It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone.

As for your dearest family, They'll be here later on.

I need you here badly, you're part of my plan.

There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.'

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.

And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.

And when you lie in bed at night the days chores put to flight.

God and I are closest to you....In the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years.

Because you are only human they are bound to bring tears.

But do not be afraid to cry: it does relieve the pain.

Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.

If I were to tell you, you would not understand.

But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.

I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you, and many hills to climb;

But together we can do it by taking one step at a time.

It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you to;

That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain;

Then you can say to God at night...."My day was not in vain."

And now I am contented...that my life was worthwhile.

Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low:

Just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.

When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind;

I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go...from that body to be free.

Remember you're not going...you're coming here to me.

I will always be with you!
Please accept our prayers and know that we always "call all angels" to walk with all of our Professional Safety Personnel.

We will miss your energy and enthusiam for your work. Your dedication to your department and your community is unquestioned.

Where others may slow down as they earn promotions, your attainment of rank only fueled your passion. You didn't preach leadership, you practiced it.

Everytime I heard "OD841" on the radio, I couldn't help but think "Jeez, does this guy ever rest!" Well, you can rest now, Joe... job well done... please watch over us...

Joe,
I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work for you years ago at the start-up of our Central Processing Unit. Our assignments were new and challenging but your leadership, work ethics and knowledge got us through. You maintained your friendship and generosity with me since then and I will truly miss those 10-16's. You always did your job extremely well and you out-performed your duties to the end. I truly wish that you could have enjoyed your retirement with your family but someone above must really need your help. Thank you for being a true professional and setting the standards for others to follow. May GOD bless your family and friends.
