Reflections for Officer Patrick Martin Maher

I can hardly believe it's been 20 years. I remember that day like it was yesterday. We've not forgotten you, Pat. You are truly missed.

Pat

As we approach your death anniversary — and 20 years — you are remembered. Good thoughts always come when we think of you and a hole is felt. You are missed.

It’s early Christmas morning and the house is still very quiet. I was thinking about you, Nathan and dad and all the other family members in heaven on this special day. It’s been a while since I’ve posted on here but I do read the new post. Those you have worked with “checking” in letting us all know they are okay. We miss you so much. Jim is almost ready to call it quits. Just a few more years and in fall both kids will be in college. So much has changed since your fateful day but the one things that never does is how much you are loved and missed!!! Merry Christmas brother!!!

Just checking in on you, buddy. I smile when I think of our flight into Portland to find a missing witness. There was a terrible storm. We missed our approach twice. I was a wreck; you asked me to wake you when we landed. I miss your calm presence.

Miss you my friend, seems like yesterday as I passed you in the locker room, not knowing it would be the last time I’d see you. Still remember getting that call as if it was this morning.

Fortunately I have just recently learned that murder convicts in Washington state must serve there entire sentence which means your killer will be in prison for at least another 16 years.

Patrick and I were the only former Coast Guardsmen serving as officers in the Honolulu P.D. in late 1990s. Quiet and co rodent he bore the traditions well and with honor. Still missed, this day marks the 14th anniversary of his sad passing. Semper Paratus Patrick. Fair Winds and Following Seas.
