"Acts of courage shape human history. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope." -Robert F. Kennedy

My friend Mike Hartzell was shot and killed over three months ago. I can promise you that time will help in the healing process. You now have another angel watching over you on every call for service you go on.

God bless the family of Police Officer Douglas E. Wendel and the entire Richmond Police Dept.

What a shame! Another violent and senseless crime against society. The Fort Worth, Texas Police Department just graduated a class from their Academy. It would be great to know that all of them could survive a career in law enforcement, but as we know, that is highly unlikely. I hope and pray that the actors in this case get their due and just rewards. My prayers and thoughts are with the family, friends and co-workers of Officer Wendel at the Richmond, Virginia Police Department.

I commend the bravery and commitment of this policeman in defending and protecting the citizens . This incident illustrates all too clearly the nature of the danger with which each officer is faced with on a daily basis . This is an appalling tragedy .
My thoughts and prayers are with all of the colleagues and my deepest condolences go out to the family of the officer whose life was taken .

God Bless this hero and all that are like him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, an all my fellow brother and sisters that will be crying for this fallen warrior!

Please remember the fallen officers we have lost. Remember the men and women who died trying to make this world a safer and better place for us all to live in. Thank you Officer Wendel for a job well done. Please continue to watch over us and protect us as only you can. You will forever be at our side and in our hearts.

For those of you who still have loved ones with us please take the time to tell them how much you appreciate and care about them.

IF I KNEW

If I knew it would be the last time
That I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly
and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time
that I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
and call you back for one more.

If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word,
so I could play them back day after day.

If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute
to stop and say "I love you,"
instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.

If I knew it would be the last time
I would be there to share your day,
Well I'm sure you'll have so many more,
so I can let just this one slip away.

For surely there's always tomorrow
to make up for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance
to make everything just right.

There will always be another day
to say "I love you,"
And certainly there's another chance
to say our "Anything I can do?"

But just in case I might be wrong,
and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you
and I hope we never forget.

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
you get to hold your loved one tight.

So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
you'll surely regret the day,

That you didn't take that extra time
for a smile, a hug, or a kiss
and you were too busy to grant someone,
what turned out to be their one last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today,
and whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them
and that you'll always hold them dear

Take time to say "I'm sorry,"
"Please forgive me," "Thank you," or "It's okay."
And if tomorrow never comes,
you'll have no regrets about today.

It made my heart sick to see that we lost another brother officer in Richmond. It seems like just yesterday that we lost Mongo to the fight.....

God Bless you Officer Wendel and may He bring comfort and hope to your family. Your brothers and sisters all around the world grieve your loss.

I pray with all my might that they catch the two animals responsible for your death and bring them to justice.

“My Badge at Heart”

We band of Brothers and Sisters have fought so very hard
Protected our streets, our people, their homes
Protected the children, the aged and the tired
Protected each other, our brothers and our sisters
We prayed every night and every day since we swore to protect and uphold
God, let us return to those who too are so brave
Our mothers and fathers our brothers and sisters
God let me once again hold my wife, my sons and my daughters
Allow me to picnic with my family, celebrate a wedding, and sing happy birthday
God, please let me live to teach my sons to play catch and to watch my daughters dance
Please let me grow old with love, compassion, and strength
But most of all God, if you need me to lay down my life for another
Please, please tell my family, my loved ones, and my friends
I died not in vain, I sought no heroics
I died doing what I was proud to do
I died being who I was proud to be
I died, my badge at heart

Dedicated to all Blue Angels and their families
Terry
