Terry my friend,

We had some wonderful times in high school, then lost touch. When I ran into you again on Halloween last year at our block party, I enjoyed talking with you, and learned quickly that you had grown to be a wonderful person. I'll never forget our two young boys playing together as superheroes as we watched them and talked.

I reflected that evening, and even the next few days, how proud I felt and I happy I was for you to have become a Peace Officer. Now I sit torn and depressed as I grieve for you, and especially for your wonderful wife and two beautiful boys. You have given the ulitimate sacrifice in protecting our city; your life.

Rest well my friend, may God bless you, and may God bless and heal your family.

I am proud to have known you...

Terry, you will be missed. Two months ago you helped me lay my partner and best friend to rest, Officer Jerry Griffin. I can only show you the honor you deserve. My family sends it's prayers to your family.

We mourn the second SDPD Motor Officer to give the ultimate sacrafice in two months. I am proud to have known you and I know you are with God as he takes all heros. Your wife and sons, once the pain eases will be able to hold thier head's high knowing thier husband and father care so much for those he did not know that he gave his own life to make the world a safer place.

Rest now and tell Jerry we say hello. We will see you some day again.

Another hero taken... the third California officer in as many days. To the family, friends and co-workers of Officer Bennett, I know there are no words. What possible explanation for a person who would intentionally take away a husband and father, to steal a truck? My heart goes out to you. He is safe now.

Officer Jon Cook
