Det. Barron... you will not be forgotten by your brothers in blue. It is time for you to go on to a better place. You've done your time in hell my friend, now it is time for you to walk with the angels and for you to watch over your "city of angels." God speed my brother in blue. Your family will forever be in our prayers.

To the family of Detective Barron,

My condolences. Part of my responsibility while on acitve duty is keeping pace with the war and monitoring the casualties. I was deeply saddened when I heard of your family's loss.

I myself am probably not well known at Northeast, but I know Det. Barron was well respected and known. The few times I saw him he was sitting at his desk deep in his work, or smiling and laughing with his fellow Detectives. That's how I remember him, smiling. I'm sure he is heaven and God is smiling with him. God bless you Det. Barron and you family.

Rest in peace Detective Barron. May God watch over you and your family.

How tragic to lose a fine veteran officer so needlessly. I hope that the suspect is such brought to justice for this crime. We all share in the loss because we are all family of the badge.

I pray for his family, friends and colleagues. This sadly shows that automobiles are deadly for officers. He now walks a beat in Heaven with St. Michael. God Bless and be safe.

I was recently introduced to this site when a Brother of ours in Newark NJ made the ultimate sacrifice. I have come to this site every day since that and unfotunately there is always a new name listed. I'm sure there is a very special (and safe) place where all our Brothers and Sisters in Blue go. Please lead them on Det.Barron as you watch over your family and us carrying on below in your name. God Bless Brother.

About every other day I use the ODMP web site to show my new trainees just how dangerous our choosen profession can be, and then last night I had to catch my breath when I saw Abe's name listed.

This upcoming November will be twenty years since seventy plus young men and women stood in the gym together, before sunrise, at the Los Angeles Police Academy, waiting for what was to come. At exactly 6 AM, those rear doors slammed open and our adventure began. Of course not all of us made it through, but that is to be expected, but Abe, myself, and about fifty others.

We left that place, after six long months, and all went forward with our individual careers. Some of us didn't make probation, some of us just left, and some of us left L.A. for "greener pastures" and to wear a badge somewhere else. But Abe stayed and apparently made good.

He was the class of 11-83's , "clown" and put up with all the stuff they threw at us with a smile and a joke, when the staff wasn't looking of course. But now, we mourn, as you have left us like Chuck, and Gilda before you.

To Abe's family, friends, and partners, may the Lord give you added strength during this trying time. Good bye, Abe, greener pastures.
