You were hilighted on the website
yesterday so I stopped by to read your story. Many who knew you left messages and I learned how highly you were thought of. My heart goes
out to your family today because their
lives have been changed forever.
And even the passage of time does
not change that. I hope your partner
has recovered and found peace. God bless your family at work also.
I know you are greatly missed.

Abe, no words can truly express how I felt when I heard of your untimely passing. We worked around each other for several years when we were young cops in Newton Division. You made the entire watch and division a great place to work. You made us all laugh and kept us focused with doing our jobs professionaly with your high work ethics. You are deeply missed and we will never forget you. May you rest in peace my brother.

My last contact with Abe was in Laughlin
and he asked me to send him some info on
real estate. He was to retire soon, and planned to move to N. Nevada. I loved the guy and wished that he could have made the move. His death was a great loss to his family and friends.

Abe, Lauren is growing up so quickly, she is smart, beautiful, funny and a true young republican, you would be so proud of her. She misses you dearly and some days are harder then others. It breaks my heart to see the sadness in her eyes. I can only remind her that you will always be in her heart and dreams. No one can ever take away the memories the love and the laughter, you were her father first and always. I leave you with this "Our hearts still ache with sadness and secret tears still flow what it took to lose you, no one will ever know."

To the family and friends of Detective Abe Barron, my deepest heartfelt sympathy. Having been assigned to Northeast Division at the time of his passing I know how difficult it is for all of us in the LAPD family to lose a brother. Your smile is what I remember most Abe.

As you now know, Jesus Loves You. So do we!

Ret Officer RB Wade
Richmond,Va Police

October 1, 2003

The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges
can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tear,
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

To Mrs. Barron,
My heart goes out to you. For I too know the pain you are going through. Adam and I had plans that I will never see but I know that he loved me and his daughter and the job. Police officers are a great bunch of men and women. They take great pride in there job and it's one Adam always said once it's in your blood you can never walk away from. I just wanted to say there are those of use who have been where you are now and we know your pain. Remeber the really great times and also remeber the second family you belong to. Your officer family is one to lean on who will always be there. Ours has always been there for me.

To the young daughter,
Cherish your time that you had with your father. I'm sure he loved you very much and although you may not understand why God hascalled him home. His reason we aren't to understand . Always remember the love that he showed you and don't blame the badge.for there are few people who do the job that seems to take the life of so many. I'm sure your father loved the job almost as much as he loves you.
