Reflections for Lieutenant Charles A. "Bo" Harrison

When I heard the news that day, I knew that could have been me. We risk our lives everyday to keep this world a safer place. We don't do it to become rich.We do it because it's in our blood, in our hearts, and in our souls. Lt. Harrison paid the ultimate price, but don't think for one second that his job is over. Lt. Harrison is protecting us in a more spiritual way. Thank You Lt. for all that you have given us,we truely miss you and we will continue to pray. God Bless You Sir !

Pinellas County Sheriff's Office

I was very amazed at the people who attended Lt. Harrison funeral, I was there and I felt as If he was apart of my family and that I knew him a very long time. At first I was very sadden but a sweet spirit crossed my path and I became happy. I have a boyfriend that is a Detective and I know that he felt the same way as I did, it really affected him to see one of his brothers leave as he did, but to the family and my boyfriend, God makes no mistakes, there is reason for everything and I think that God was ready for "Bo" to help him out in the great heavens above!

Best wishes to all of the friends and family of Bo Harrison. Unfortunately, I never had the chance to meet him. I will, however, always remember seeing the many faces of men, women, and children alongside the road during the procession holding signs that read, "Bo, we'll miss you."

It appears that Lt. Harrison's "songs" have been heard and will be remembered. :)

A true friend of Bo Harrison for many years!! You will never be forgotten
my friend!!! Rest in peace!!! We'll take over now!

Love ya!!! Bo

Sgt. Cary

Bo, I first met you in the early part of 1984. You and I took to each
other like brothers. I was a rookie and you were a veteran and my
Corporal. Your name was Bo and so was mine! You very much
impressed me from the first day I met you!!! I felt a bond with you
immediately and I know you felt the same way! From that day forward,
you and I forged a very close friendship that would last the next 19
years. I always looked up to you and considered you one of my closest
friends!
I was on duty on the other side of the county when you were shot. As
soon as I heard the radio call, I was on my way to you! A very short
time after I arrived, I received the devastating news of your death. I
spent the next many hours looking for your cowardly killer!!! On my way
home the next day, I had to pull my patrol car over because I could not
see through the tears in my eyes!
I attended your funeral which was the most awesome funeral I have
ever attended!!! I have never seen so many cops in one place at one
time in my 20 year career! And you so very much deserved it!!!
I just want you to know that I will never forget you and your AWESOME
laugh!!! You will live in my heart forever!!! You are one of the greatest
people I have ever met! It has been my pleasure, privilage and honor to
have known you all these years!!!
My heart goes out to you and your family!!!
Love ya forever, til we meet again!!! Love Ya, Bo

"Friends in Blue"

We have worked together for many years,
It's our voices ringing in your ears.
We try to make those long days brighter,
And hopefully, the load a little lighter.

We send you to the bar-room brawl.
And out in the rain to the nuisance call.
We worry about you day and night.
To make sure every call turns out all right.

We share your sorrows, we share your joys,
That's why we think of you as ... "Our boys."
Then why have we never said to you,
"I'm proud of you ... my friend in blue."

Me and my family are deeply sadden by the loss of Lieutenant Bo. I recently finised my application to the very department Bo served and this trajedy was a strong wake-up call for me and my family, as well as it should have been for every other cadet or officer. It has not detered my efforts to become a law enforcement officer but instead streangthed my pursuit. I realized how quickly my family could be with out me so I try not to take my life with them for granted, and have saught out additional training. Officers can never have enough. If I can become half the officer Bo was, I will have served my community well. May he rest in peace for his memory will live forever.

When Lt. Charles (Bo) Harrison walked out the door of his home that sad day; If he knew what was going to happen later that night, Would he have stayed home? No ! Lt. Harrison being the dedicated true hero that he was would have maybe spent a little longer talking to his family and friends and said his goodbys, but he would have still walked out that door and started patroling the streets, because true Law Enforcement Officers do the job no matter the risk or outcome. The community has lost a true hero and it will feel the loss. My heart goes out to the family and friends of Lt. Harrison. God has chosen a better retirment plan for you Bo. While you're there in heaven doing the things you love, protect us here on earth. With love, from the Bay County Sheriffs Office. Its hurts us all.

Deputy Sheriff Lancen Shipman

We lose another Hero, and we hurt...but now he is with the Lord in a better place! But from the messages listed with all these kind words it is plain to see that so many heroes are left behind. Let us all do our best to honor the names of our fallen brothers!!!

No greater love has a man, than to lay down his life for another. Representing all Law Enforcement Officers from the State of California, we wished we had the honor to pay our respects to great hero. Nevertheless, Lt. Harrison, we will honor you in our duty and in our hearts. We will wear our mourning bands as our thoughts are with you, your family and your brothers in Pasco County. GODSPEED.

To a very trusted and loved man that has been a true family friend and mentor to myself. You will be truly missed by me and and my family, but never forgotten. Thanks for everything you've done for me.

James Pressley Jr.

I would like to express my personal thanks to all who sent their messages of comfort for my Lieutenant. Lt. Charles "Bo" Harrison was my platoon commander. As you all have heard and seen through media reports, he was a true hero to not only the deputies of his command but all those who served with him at the Pasco Sheriff's Office.

To Bo:

You were my Supervisor, my golfing partner and most of all a true and trusted friend. You were a shining example to those under your command and to all who knew and respected you. Thank you for your guidence, your wisdom and your encouragement. It never fell on deaf ears. I will miss you.
