Reflections for Police Officer Ryan Eugene Cappelletty

Ryan...EOW 5-28-03 Just seems like yesterday you were laughing in our living room with Rachel and making plans for the coming years. Not to be, our dear one. It doesn't matter how many years pass, we love you still and remember.

Hi Ryan, I was thinking about how excited I am to go visit Zac & Maggie for Christmas and it made me think about how much your family will miss you this holiday season. Rae's girls are so beautiful and they are at an age that makes Christmas extra special because of their excitement. You would have been a wonderful uncle to them. I know you will be in their thoughts as they celebrate.
I still can't get over how unfair it is that you are not here but I know you are watching over your family.
You are still thought of often and always with love.

Hi Ryan, Thinking of you during this Thanksgiving season! I was remembering one of the last Thanksgivings we spent together because of all the snow we had yesterday. You and Dad drove to Edinboro in a blizzard to get the love of your life. You made it and brought her back safely. We miss you so much! Our grief for you doesn't last for a while, it lasts for a lifetime. We love you still! Love, Mom and Dad

May 28, 2003-May 28, 2013: It sounds so similar and yet in the dash between these dates we have lived a lifetime. Ten years without Ryan...a moment and yet forever. Marriages, babies, new addresses, holidays, joys, sorrows have all happened. We missed you then and we miss you now. We have so much to tell you when we see you! Thanks for the love and laughter we enjoyed in the years you were with us. You gave your all.

And in the fields where the fallen lay,
Infinitve love shall stand.
For they are gone, but never forgotten,
And forever in our hearts they stay...
These guardians of the innocent, the weak and down trodden,

Who bravely give their lives,
So that other's may live.
Beyond the Hero, The brother, the son,
A gift from God to all.
The Man that we all loved.

Ryan, I can't believe that it has been ten years since you have been gone from us. Through the many tragic events that have occurred, I know that you have been at the ready to greet fellow police officers who have ended their watches here on earth, and to protect those that remain as the best guardian angel! I miss your wonderful smile! God Bless Rachel and the whole Cappelletty family!

I remembered how your family visits this page often and tonight I found myself thinking about you as well as your family. I wasn't even a LEO when you were taken away from us. I have now been a police officer for the City of Hopewell for nearly 6 years now and I am honored to help take over the watch for you. I continue to pray for the continued healing of your family and friends. Rest in Peace Brother!

I like to think about how the holidays would be if you were still with us. I'm sure you would be getting my girls all wound up just in time to say your goodbyes. Laughing and giving your mischevious smile as we would try to regain control! Merry Christmas Ry. I'm still waiting for this to get easier. Love you big brother.

Dear sir.

I just want you to know that a day does not go by without Images of that tragic morning. You saved my family from a madman bent on killing us. It's because of you we are alive and I'll never forget your protection. My son ( who was a baby) at the time asked about the scrapbook I had laying around. I told him about that day and showed him a picture of you. He saw a picture of a real life hero. Your family has always stayed in my prayers.
