Reflections for Police Officer Ryan Eugene Cappelletty

Another year has come and gone. Has it really even been that long?
Fifteen years gone by so fast. I wish He would have made it last.
Other duties as assigned. We all go in His due time.
Only memories of the past. Hoping that they'll always last.

It has been 15 years, but life is still difficult moving on without you in it. Not a day goes by that you are not in my thoughts. Wishing that my girls wouldn't be missing out on having such a wonderful person in their lives. Only knowing you by your photo on the wall and memories that I share with them. It just doesn't seem fair. Please watch over them. I know you already are.

To the best big brother a little sister could ever ask for. I love you.

Ryan,
As I watch another family say goodbye to their officer, it feels like it was yesterday our family said the final goodbye. You are not forgotten. Our children know not only about your sacrifice but also the amazing man you were. They love hearing their dad's memories of growing up together. You are missed.

Thinking of you and missing you Cappa. I can't believe it's been 11 years. It's so unfair. You are in my thoughts and I know that you're watching over us from heaven.

Ryan was a wonderful young man with his whole life ahead of him. His death was such a tragedy. He always wanted to be a police officer and he died doing what he loved.
He is truly missed by everyone who knew him.
My heart goes out to his parents, Robin and Rick. They did such a wonderful job raising him. I am so very sorry for their loss.

"Greater love hath no man, than to lay down his life for his friend." There's a certain warrior class that walk among us that runs towards danger, rather than running away from it. Ryan is one of the warriors. It's truly an honor to say I know Ryan. As long as I'm on this earth he'll never before forgotten.

Badge number 301

And in the fields where the fallen lay,

Infinitive love shall stand.

For they are gone, but never forgotten,

And forever in our hearts they stay...

These guardians of the innocent,

the weak, and down trodden,

Who bravely give their lives,

So that other's may live.

Beyond the Hero, The Brother, the Son,

A gift from God to all.

The Man that we all loved.

Badge number 301.

( This Pales to the young man that he was, but after Ten years, i am finally able to pay respect with words to Ryan in, albeit a mere way. I hope these words honor his memory and the love that all of us have for him.)

He definitely was one of the GOOD guys... Just an all around gentleman! I knew him through my sister (Kristi Miller), & we lived right down the road from him on W38th St. He actually was the first person to teach me how to drive, after seeing the movie "Patch Adams" together!
My thoughts & prayers go out to his family... Especially today!!
