Well it has been three months now since you left us Jim. It still does not seem real. You gave so much of yourself for others. You will never ever be forgotten. You were a one of a kind guy. God Bless you and your family.

Jim,
W love and miss you. Thank you for always being there when I needed you and for letting me ride with you every Sunday night. Its funny the things that you take for granted, like going to the firehouse on Sunday nights for nachos, or listening to you sing Eminem in the squad car. I want you to know that you taught me so much about being an officer, that I could never thank you enough. No matter where I work, I will always remember those night in Medina as 4sam18.

Your loss might have saved an innocent person. If not for you protecting the rest of us, this world be a much more dangerous place. If you could have not been there to stop this person, a whole family could have been killed. You are a brave soul. You have answered the call, watch over me from above brother. I will see you soon. Thank You.

Jim,

Words cannot express the impact, knowledge, friendship, and bravery that you have left with all of us. The list goes on. There is not enough time to express all that Jim has given us. Jim was a loving husband, father, police officer, firefighter, brother, mentor, and friend. Jim would not hesitate to help someone in a time of need. Jim, you helped me through a very difficult time in my life and for that I am forever grateful. We will do our best to follow in your footsteps and continue to strive to achieve the greatness that you wished for all of us. You and your family are in our hearts and in our prayers. Lay down my brother and fear not, for your spirit lives on, now and forever.

Keep us safe, for one day we shall meet again.

GRIEVE NOT FOR ME
~unknown authors~

Grieve not for me for it has been ordained,
that my journey here be short.
Grieve not for me for my loyal presence
will ever remain in your heart.

I was sent to be a Guardian,
for the Guardians of Law in Blue.
A fearless, noble protector,
with a bond that few can construe.

With character unshakable,
and senses that are well heightened,
I was sent to be a defender,
so that your burden here would be lightened.

Grieve not for me for in heavenly blue,
our reunion day will come.
Grieve not for me for as partners again,
We will defend a greater Kingdom.

It has been a month now since Jim has been gone. He will be in our thoughts every day. I find myself thinking of this wonderful friend often during the strangest moments. He was there when u need a shoulder to cry on or for someone to tell u things will get better. Jim will be missed everyday but he died doing what he loved. My thoughts are with the family and friends.

To those I Love and Those Who Love Me

When I am gone, release me, Let me go
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears,
Be happy that we had so many years.

I gave you my love, you can only guess
How much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown,
But now it's time I traveled alone.

So grieve a while for if grieve you must
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only for a while that we must part
So bless the memories within your heart,

I won't be far away, for life goes on
So if you need me, call and I will come
Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near
And if you listen wih your heart, you'll
Hear all of my love around you soft and clear

And when you must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and say,
"Welcome Home"

In memory of a great friend

Jim:
I cannot say anything more eloquent than what the others have already said about you. My heart still breaks every time I think about you and how whenever I come home on vacation, you will not be there.
You really did give me strength to accomplish just about anything. I cannot thank you enough.
I will never forget you.

Jim,

You were our anchor in troubled seas. You always had something positive to say, and then you gave us words of wisdom to improve. You gave so many hours of selfless service. Every time I worked with you, you amazed me in some way. You were a friend, a big brother, and a mentor. As seas rage before us, and we wonder what now? Your words are still fresh in our minds. You imbedded parts of your vast knowledge in all of us. Anchoring all are aching hearts, minds, and souls to you.

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
John 15:13

"Blessed are the peacemakers; for they shall be called the children of God."
Matthew 5:9

"God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them."
Hebrews 6:10

Rest now brother, rest.

To Jim,
Words cannot express what you have provided to this community over the past 14 years. I have learned so much from you to help me shape a future and career. You have been a role model for all, always walking the straight line and keeping us there as well. When ever times were tough for me you were there with a strong compassionate shoulder to lean on. I feel I have not lost a best friend but an older brother. But I will remeber the following words to always keep my brother with me: HONOR, CHERISH, and REMEMBER. Your sacrifice will not go forgotten.

On behalf of the Woodford County Sheriff’s Explorers, we offer our condolences to the family and friends of Deputy Jim Mulay, as well as his co-workers at the Peoria County Sheriff’s Department. It saddens everyone to see such a fine deputy dedicated to service, die in the line of duty, doing what he loved. Our prayers go out to you Jim, your family, fellow deputies, your explorers, and others whose life you made a difference in, God Bless.

Jim you will be sorely missed by everyone. You made such a great impact in your 7 years with Peoria County and 13 or so years with the Dunlap Fire Department. You were simply amazing.

To the family and friends of Deputy Mulay:

It is really awful to hear of another hero lost in the line of duty because of a drunk driver. I hope that in this time of grief you can come together to comfort each other and honor his memory. God bless you!
