Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Philip Guy Billings

Thank you so much for your service to your community Deputy Billings. May God grant your family a swift closure and comforting peace. In your absence, my he also comfort them and somehow assure them that you have transcended from this Earthly bond to the ultimate duty -- patroling the streets of heaven under God's command. Rest easy knowing that your brothers and sisters in arms will continue the fight, and eventually join you for a reunion in a far better place than this. God speed to your assignment Deputy Billings. God bless the remaining peacemakers.

I will someday be a cop, I will respect all those who have come before me and died. I thank the families of fallen officers for their children's life. They were protecting us and keeping us safe. So shall I protect YOU and keep YOU safe... To all fallen officers I say, have no fear, you are with god. The fellow LEO's you have left behind will support and comfort your family. I thank you parents whose son's and daughters have bled for us. I never knew Deputy Billings... but he was a distant brother, a family member whom died for the common cause... to protect and serve. I promise you... I will not fail in my oath to keep Deputy Billing's honor sacred, his family safe and many others like them. I am the future L.E.O. of tommorrow.

The tragic loss of Officer Billings is a painful reminder of a fellow officer we lost in November. Our brother's death affected us deeply but his life will always lift us up as we move forward with our own. I imagine Officer Billings' life will do the same for those who knew him, loved him and were served by him. My thoughts and prayers are with the Broward County Sheriff's Office and Officer Billings' family and friends.

To the family of Deputy Sheriff Phillip Billings and the Broward County Sheriff's Office, your extended family of Law Enforcement Officers grieve with you during this time.

There are but two persons who protect the sinful human race from destroying itself. One is God's Holy Spirit. The other is the Peace Officer.
Without them, we would all perish at each other's hands.

According to Romans 13.1-5...
God ordains the Peace Officer’s profession.
The Peace Officer is sent by God.
The Peace Officer is vested with God's authority to enforce the law.
A Peace Officer's badge is to be honored by us, because it is honored by God.

Rest in peace with the other fallen Heroes, my brother. We will continue the fight in your honor.

Florida Deputy Sheriff

My prayers extend to Deputy Billings' family in their time of grief as well as the brotherhood of the Broward Sheriff's Office. A fine department that lost a very fine officer. I know God will reign justice on those responsible.

Rest in peace, brother.
