Correctional Officers Prayer
As I pass by the tower
Beyond the fences of razor wire and walls of stone
I ask the lord for mental strength and physical power

As I am sent into battle outnumbered and unarmed
I must have faith in you and my brothers
As there are no others

We do this day in and day out
Controlling the uncontrollable
Which has to be done, without any doubt

The most overlooked law enforcement
We work behind the walls, beyond the eyes
We only have each other for reinforcement

We walk the range
Outnumbered hundreds to one
Dealing with nothing but the deranged
To run.........................is not an option

This is what they call corrections
We call it our daily walk of life
I ask you lord for guidance and direction
So you can bring me home to my wife

Your heroism and service is honored today, the one hundred and twenty-fourth anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

I stop by this website often after the death of two dear friends with the NCSHP (Troopers Calvin Taylor E.O.W. October 3, 2001 and Anthony Cogdill E.O.W. May 30, 2003). Unfortunately, I had to add the name of another friend recently. Deputy Jeffery Hewitt, Buncombe County (NC) Sheriff’s Department, E.O.W. April 4, 2004.

I want to honor all of those who gave their life in the line of duty. Although your death was many many years ago, you are still a hero.

God Bless the men and women who continue to serve their communities in our great Nation.

...Gone, but never Forgotten....
