DEAR VICTOR

I STILL REMEMBER LIKE IF IT WAS YESTERDAY THE GOOD AND BAD MOMENTS WE SPENT PATROLLING THE STREETS OF BARRIO OBRERO IN SAN JUAN. YOU WAS ONE OF MY MENTORES AND SHOW ME THE ROPES ON THE JOB. THE CITY OF SAN JUAN LOST ONE OF HIS BEST OFFICERS ON THE DEPARTMENT, YOU WERE ONE OF THE ELITE GUYS ON THE JOB. I STILL REMEMBER HOW YOU TALKED ABOUT HOW GREAT YOUR SON WAS AND THAT YOU COULD NOT WAIT TO GET OFF THE SHIFT TO PICK HIM UP FOR SOME PLAY TIME. MAY GOD BLEES YOU AND GIVE YOUR SON AND FAMILY THE COMFORT THEY NEED TO CARRY ON. DIOS TE BENDIGA Y NOS VEREMOS PRONTO HERMANO MIO !!

RESPECTFULLY:

To my brother, the one I adored and always will. We were always close and alot of time people taught we were twins, well now I know why, you were my other half, life without you is empty. But you know I always talk to you and I know you are always with me. I love you more than life and want to thank you for helping me so much from the other side. You were the only one knew all my dreams and goals....Thanks!!
I also want to thanks all the people that sent you a reflection. Victor you are everybody's Hero and we are very proud of you. Your son is doing good, he is very smart and outgoing just like you, we love him very much and taking good care of him. We will meet again, God Bless you and have you by his side where you belong.

MY BROTHER, I STILL REMEMBER THOSE UNIQUE TIMES THAT WE WORKED TOGETHER IN THE STREETS OF BARRIO OBRERO, SAN JUAN. FOR THOSE WHO NEVER WORKED WITH YOU, THEY LOST THE OPORTUNITY TO ENFORCE LAW AND ORDER WITH SUCH A FINE POLICE OFFICER. I FEEL LUCKY AND HONORED BECAUSE I HAD THAT OPORTUNITY. YOU WAS AN EXAMPLE OF EXCELLENCE AND MOTIVATION FOR ME, TO CONTINUE PERFORMING THIS DIFFICULT AND DEMANDING CAREER. MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. REST IN PEACE MY BROTHER.

To Officer Victor De Pedro-Fernandez and his loved ones:

On this the fourth anniversary of your tragic death, please know that your memory is honored and revered today.

My heart goes out to your family. You’re in our thoughts and our prayers.

Victor, you rescued us, saved our possessions, our lives and our families. You are one of the rare heroes among us. You were always there for us in the most traumatic moments of our lives. No matter when we called, we just expected that you would come and do whatever it took to help us, and you always met our expectations. Your selflessness and dedication are awe-inspiring.

This world, this country, your community truly are better places because of you. To have lost you is a great tragedy, an irreplaceable, immeasurable loss for society. We are grateful for and to you, and honor you for all you did for us day in and day out whether you received a word of thanks or praise.

Rest in Peace, Officer Pedro-Fernandez. I am humbled by your valor, courage, and dedication. I am so sorry your life was taken from you at such a young age when you had a lifetime ahead of you. How your parents and loved ones must miss you.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the distinquished service Victor gave to his community and the citizens of Puerto Rico, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on April 6, 2002.

I stop by this website often after the death of two dear friends with the NCSHP (Troopers Calvin Taylor E.O.W. October 3, 2001 and Anthony Cogdill E.O.W. May 30, 2003).

We all grieve over the lives lost in the line of duty. I hope you can find some comfort knowing that there are countless prayers that go out for your family.

Officer Fernandez, you are remembered on this date of your death. You will be remembered always.

These are senseless tragedies that never seem to stop. God Bless the men and women who continue to serve their communities in our great Nation.
