Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Trooper Michael Todd Blanton

TO MRS BLANTON AND FAMILY OF TROOPER MICHAEL BLANTON, I'M SO SORRY TO HEAR OF YOUR LOSS, I ALSO LOST SOMEONE VERY SPECIAL TO ME IN THE LINE OF DUTY. I THINK BACK TO THE DAY THAT I HEARD THAT HE WAS SHOT AND I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ARE GOING THRU. MY FIANCEE AND YOUR HUSBAND ARE IN THE HANDS OF THE LORD AND WILL KEEP AN EYE ON YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

HE IS YOUR LIGHT, TO LIGHT YOUR WAY
TO CHEER YOU UP FROM DAY TO DAY.
NO MATTER WHAT HE IS HERE FOR YOU
TO CHEER YOU UP WHEN YOU ARE BLUE.
DO NOT FRET WHEN TIMES GET TOUGH
IF THINGS LOOK DOWN OR KIND OF ROUGH
JUST REMEMBER, HE'S ALWAYS HERE,
IN YOUR HEART, CLOSE AND NEAR.

THERE IS A CHRISTIAN SONG BY MERCY ME "I CAN ONLY IMAGINE" THAT I THINK YOU WILL ENJOY. MICHAEL AND MY FIANCEE NO LONGER HAVE TO IMAGINE, THEY ARE WITH THE LORD NOW....

What a tragic loss for Virginia! We are losing too many good brothers and sisters in blue here in Virginia this year. You are the 3rd this month and will be sorely missed. I pray for your wife, son, co-workers and family & friends. Noone can explain the why's of these tragic events. Everyone says things happen for a reason but I can't for the life of me figure that one out.

To the family, I pray for peace in your heart, strength to get through this rough period ahead of you and that you understand how respected Mike is and that we all know he was a hero!!!

I can't believe we lost another officer in our area. We just buried a Henrico officer earlier in the month. My prayers are with the families.

Dave Klisz, Patrol Officer
Hanover Sheriff's Office

Whoever does not have the stomach for this fight, let him go.
Give him the money to speed his departure since we wish not to die in that mans company.
Whoever lives past today and comes home safely will rouse himself every year on this day,
show his neighbors his scars,
and tell embellished stories of all their great feats of battle,
These stories will teach his son and from this day until the end of the world we will be remembered.
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers,
for whoever has shed his blood with me shall be my brother,
and these men afraid to go will think themeselves lessar men as they hear of how we fought and died together.
