Can't believe it's been 5 years already. Still missing you bro.

This is not at all how
We thought it was supposed to be
We had so many plans for you
We had so many dreams
And now you've gone away
And left us with the memories of your smile
And nothing we can say
And nothing we can do
Can take away the pain
The pain of losing you, but ...

We can cry with hope
We can say goodbye with hope
'Cause we know our goodbye is not the end, oh no
And we can grieve with hope
'Cause we believe with hope
(There's a place by God's grace)
There's a place where we'll see your face again
We'll see your face again

And never have I known
Anything so hard to understand
And never have I questioned more
The wisdom of God's plan
But through the cloud of tears
I see the Father's smile and say well done
And I imagine you
Where you wanted most to be
Seeing all your dreams come true
'Cause now you're home
And now you're free, and ...

We have this hope as an anchor
'Cause we believe that everything
God promised us is true, so ...

So we can cry with hope
And say goodbye with hope

We wait with hope
And we ache with hope
We hold on with hope
We let go with hope

Boo,

I can't believe it's been almost 5 years since we've held hands. I sure do miss you each and every day. I'm still trying to hold things together here until we can be reunited. I know you're with me as much as you can be. I am grateful to both God and you for the comfort that is provided to me. I'm blessed that your mom continues to be an important part of my life. We love you so very much.

I know this week will be difficult as we mark your 5th year EOW. Please watch over us all that are still grieving your death. Rest in peace my love.

Yours forever & ever,
Lee Ann

Andre, Officer Booger, as I called you accidently one night on the radio. I want you to know I carry your memory with me every day. Your death changed my life forever and I take your courage and sacrafice with me every night I go to work. I stop by to see you every chance I get. Continue to rest in peace, and know that the boys of A Platoon West will never forget.

Hi Boo,

Well, National Police Week is here once again. Please know that so many people are remembering and honoring you and the 18,000 other fallen heros.
Today, the Police Unity Tour stopped by the terrible place you lost your life as they do each year. You are part of the strong blue line that hangs tuff together...forever.

I continue to miss you more and more each day. I pray you are resting well. I love you so much. I will try to represent you well in DC.

Until we meet again,
Lee Ann

Andre,

Though I have never had the honor of knowing or working the streets with you, you have been on my mind and in my prayers all day. I work on the other side of the state and until this afternoon, never knew about that tragic night in January 2003. My mother and I were having lunch over looking a small lake. I commented how peaceful it was with the geese and fish swimming all around. She told me of that night, I began to cry right there at the table, thinking how something that looked so beutiful, could take the life of a fellow officer.

You and your family will aways be in my prayers. I look forward to meeting you one day, at the end of my watch.

Lee Ann

Andre is looking down on you and smiling ever-so-much for know all the things you have done in his honor. Below is a little poem that I read often to reflect on about my sister and wanted to share it with you. May your journey continue to be safe and meaningful.

This is what Andre is saying to you . . .When tomorrow starts without me, and I am not here to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me.

I know how much you love me as much as I love you,
And each time you think of me I know you'll miss me to.

But when tomorrow starts without me please try to understand,
That Jesus came and called my name and took me by the hand.

He said my place is ready in heaven far above,
And that I have to leave behind all those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away a tear fell from my eye,
For all my life I'd always thought it wasn't my time to die.

I had so much to live for and so much yet to do,
It seems almost impossible that I was leaving you.

I thought of all the yesterdays the good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared and all the fun we had.

If I could of stayed for just a little while,
I'd say goodbye and kiss you and maybe see you smile.

But then I fully realize that this could never be,
For emptiness and memories would take the place of me.

And when I thought of wordly things that I'd miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you and when I did my heart was filled with sorrow.

But when I walked through Heaven's gate and felt so much at home,
As God looked down and smiled at me from his great golden throne.

He said "This is eternity, And all I've promised you,
Today your life on earth is past, but here it starts anew."

"I promise no tomorrow but today will always last,
And since each day's the same here there's no longing for the past."

So when tomorrow starts without me don't think we're far apart,
For everytime you think of me I'm right here in your heart.

Lee Ann -- I hope you find some comfort today in that message.

With much respect,
Jo Anne Colbert-Gunn Simmons

Thinking of you today fondly and remembering you during your training....constant smile and always ready to take on whatever. We could not be with LeeAnn physically at the memorial this evening, but she is in our thoughts as are you and the rest of your family. LeeAnn has done a wonderful job of keeping your memory alive and is a great asset to our group at Central VA Concerns of Police Survivors. I know you have seen all that she has done on behalf of "Significant Others" with the National Chapter and you must be so proud of her. Please be with LeeAnn and the rest of your family today as they mark this 4th anniversary.

Hey, Hey, Hey Brother

Happy Birthday. I wish you were still around. When I remember the best times at Henrico, you were usually involved. When I think of the worst times, I also remeber you being there. Thank you for being the friend that you were and still are in my thoughts. You never knew how much it meant to me.
