Betts was always the life of the MP Desk at Fort McPherson and Fort Gillem. I always remember him as someone you could joke with. It is hard to believe he has been gone for 9 years now. He will always be remembered.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the ninth anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. To Chris' Mom and Dad, I share your anquish in losing a beloved child which surely has to be life's greatest sorrow. I hold all your family in my heart's embrace today.

Chris, tomorrow is going to be nine years; but, for so many of us it feels like it was nine minutes. We miss you so much--your laughter, your jokes, your ummm rather interesting point of view at times...there's no doubt that you are missed. Christmas has never been the same for those of us that knew and loved you.

I had a conversation with Chris about 3 days before his life ended. I told him he reminded me of my own son Chris, to which he replied: "That must be a good thing." He was funny, fair, and felt like a kid brother that I could joke with. I mourned his leaving, but I will always remember that smile. 12-22-02 change my life. I won't ever forget Chris.
