STATE TROOPER
Tennessee Highway Patrol

My sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Trooper Scales. I heard the terrible account of the incident that took this officer's life and was deeply saddened. I said a prayer for him at that moment and will keep all of you who grieve his loss, in prayer. Sincerely, Linda S. Americop member.

My deepest condolences go out to your department and to the family and friends of Trooper I Christopher S. Scales. During My 23 years of law enforcement in Tallahassee,Fl. we had 3 officers lost in the line of duty, with the most recent tragidy being Nov.13.2002 when Sgt. Dale Green was gunned down. It's a very difficult time, but
Be strong, hold together, support your Trooper's family and continue to move forward in your work with God's blessing. Trooper Scales is in a better place now, with the brothers and sisters who have fallen before him.

Everytime I sit here and write yet another condolence to a grieving family and agency I pray - Please Lord, no more. Yet I know we will see more names and cry more tears...and more children will grow up knowing their parents through friends and fellow officers. To the family of Trooper Scales, know that others have walked the walk you are about to embark on and that we, in the Law Enforcement community, will be praying for you and your family. God Bless you Trooper Scales, and tell Billy hi.

Trooper Scales,
May you rest in peace in heaven with those who have been killed in the line of duty before you. I know the pain that your family & friends feel. I lost the man that I had been married to for 8 years in a very similar way. He was killed when a tractor trailer hit him while on a traffic stop on I-40. When will the tr/tl drivers learn to start paying attention to what they are doing? Your family will be in my prayers. May God wrap his loving arms around them and comfort them and give them the strength they will need to make it through each day. God bless you!

To the family of Trooper Scales:
As a up coming officer I send my deepest sorrows for your loss. I have grown up with a police officer in my family and wondered what it would be like putting your life on the line for others you may not know. People do not get into this line of work without knowing the risks involved and accepting those risks. Now I have chosen to do the same. I am sure that Trooper Scales loved what he did and I am greatful to him for his years of service. I am sure that he is a model Trooper and he will be missed by all his BROTHERS. Once again, I am sorry for your loss and God Bless.
