Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Trooper Christopher Michael Van Krevelen

Well Chris, another year has come and gone. You know 10 years is a long time for some things. But not long enough for the loss of a son. Most of the guys have moved on I guess we have to some degree. But then on days like today it all come back. Mom and Sis cooked thanksgiving this year for the first time. that is a vast improvement. Our hearts still feel torn in two, you still are missed as much as the first night you left us. Rest with the Lord until we see you again. Love Dad

Got to thinking about you the other day. I was remembering when it all started for me back in 99, I was a reserve officer in Waukomis. You were one of the first Troopers I ever met. You always seemed to be right around the corner when we needed you. Never too far away to help us out. It tore my heart out when I found out what had happened. I only wish I could have learned more from you. I have since been through some of the same things you experienced. You were my inspiration to get through them. I never had a chance to say thank you for always being there.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the seventh anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I pray for the solace of all those who love and miss you. Both the pain and pride are forever.

Rest In Peace
