William,
It was with great pleasure serving with you although unfortunately it was not long enough. I know now you are being a peace keeper in heaven and will always be looking over us.

How can people be so stupid? Let me guess, the drunk was probably just out having fun. Or was he drinking away his problems? Whatever the case, now he gets to live with knowing that he killed two innocent people who have families left behind. I hope that he thinks about that everyday because there won't be a day that goes by that the officer's family doesn't miss their loved one. I know because I remember my loved one everyday. May God wrap his loving arms around the family and give them strength & comfort.

This is why I have no tolerance for any drinking before driving. Two warriors now are taken because of one selfish individual's ridiculous actions. Rest in peace, Patrolman, your selflessness and sacrifice are duly recorded, and we pay our respects.

This is a sad day for the State of South Carolina and for the rest of the world. Two more of America's heros are gone for good and yet we still fight the good fight and go on remembering them and will never forget. Godspeed my brothers and may you be forever in Heaven remembered. May your families rest assured that you did not die in vain and be comforted by that thought.

I am very sad that another family has a "hole" in it after this terrible accident. Lean on your family and the law enforcenment family for strength in the trying days ahead. May God be with you and grant you His peace.

William,
There are so many things I wish I could say to you. I hurt inside knowing that when I go back to work, you will not be there. I didn't know that the short conversation in the squad room on that day would be our last. I am blessed to have known you and worked with you. You are a true Hero. I find comfort through the LORD and knowing that I will see you again. Your family is in my prayers.

Revelation 21:3-4 " And I heard a great voice out of Heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things have passed away."

THE POLICEMAN’S LAST ROLL CALL ...

THE POLICEMAN STOOD AND FACED HIS GOD, WHICH MUST ALWAYS COME TO PASS. HE HOPED HIS SHOES WERE SHINING, JUST AS BRIGHTLY AS HIS BRASS. "STEP FORWARD NOW, POLICEMAN. HOW SHALL I DEAL WITH YOU? HAVE YOU ALWAYS TURNED THE OTHER CHEEK? TO MY CHURCH HAVE YOU BEEN TRUE?"

THE POLICEMAN SQUARED his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain’t. Because those of us who carry badges can’t always be a Saint. I’ve had to work most Sundays, and at times my talk was rough, and sometimes I’ve been violent because the streets are awfully tough. But I never took a penny that wasn’t mine to keep, though I worked a lot of overtime when the bills just got to steep. And I never passed a cry for help, though times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I’ve wept many unmanly tears. I know I don’t deserve a place among the people here, they never wanted me around except to calm their fear. If you’ve a place for me Lord, it needn’t be so grand. I never expected or had too much, but if you don’t, I’ll understand."

There was silence all around the throne where the Saints had often trod. As the policeman waited quietly, for the judgement of his God. "Step forward now, policeman, you’ve borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on Heaven’s streets, you’ve done your time in hell."

When will people learn that DWI kills, it takes away those from their loved ones and families. What a terrible tragedy. I read this with utter disbelief. It makes me very sad and very angry at the same time.
Rest in peace Ptlm Bell and God bless. May God give your family and fellow officers the strength and courage to make it through this sad and horrific time. To those of you who drink and drive; DON'T.
