Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Captain Jimmy Douglas Sawyer

I stop by this website often after the death of two dear friends with the NCSHP (Troopers Calvin Taylor E.O.W. October 3, 2001 and Anthony Cogdill E.O.W. May 30, 2003).

We all grieve over the lives lost in the line of duty. I hope you can find some comfort knowing that there are countless prayers that go out for your family.

God Bless the men and women who continue to serve their communities in our great Nation.

Doug,
Remembering you on Police Memorial Day. I keep your sister and little girls in my prayers. I met your roommate that you were in school with when you died. He thought a lot of you and shared a few stories with me.
God Bless

CHIEF RONNIE WATFORD-RETIRED
JEFFERSON POLICE DEPT,S.C.

I met CPT Sawyer a number of years ago. What a nice man. Such a sad loss for our profession, the law enforcement family, his family, friends, colleagues and agency.

Lee and crew...be proud, you did such a commendable job in trying to revive him, but God had called him 10-42. My prayers are with you all.

He is patroling the streets of Heaven now with St. MIchael. Be safe.

Chief JA Millan

Doug,
It had been many years since I had talked to you but I know that you & my brother were still pretty close. I'm so sorry for your family & co-workers....especially your little girls & Robin. And your poor Mom, who died the day of your visitation...obviously she was so heartbroken. May the people around your girls keep your memory alive for them. Rest in peace.
