Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Beryl Wayne Scott, Jr.

Wayne, we saw your wife Alissa and Katianna today. She is so beautiful, a spitting image of you and has Alissa's beauty. She has both of your deep blue eyes. She is doing so well. And she knows about you, she knows you are in heaven.

We looked at some pictures of you and Alissa with her today. She clearly points out who her daddy is in the pictures. Those pictures brought us joy to remember, but sadness too. So many of them were so recent, trips, etc. from the last year of your life. Also those special times you and Alissa had, and all those great times we all had.

Do not worry, for those of that were close and cared for you and Alissa...we are watching out and taking care of them. You would be so proud to see how Alissa is raising Katianna. But I am sure you already know that. Alissa has carried on that great love you had.

You are in are hearts always.....

Wayne,
We never met but I have to tell you your wife has been such a great friend and help during my loss. Your daughter is so cute and adorable and she lets me hug her as much as I want.
I think you and Don may have been on motors for a short time together so you have lots to talk about. I'm pretty sure you guys are up there laughing at some of the things we do but you are also very proud of the program we started in your honor.
Keep watching over us. You guys are our inspiration and guardian angels. Thank you!

Wayne, I never knew you when you were here but I have been blessed to meet your wife and child. They are beautiful people and love you dearly. Your wife has helped me through some very difficult times and I am forever grateful. Always know that you are never forgotten with them and they love you dearly. Thanks for sharing them with me and my family.

I can't believe it has been two years since your passing. I consider myself blessed to have known, worked with and most importantly, ridden motors with you. Rest in peace my brother!

At the beginning of every shift I supervise, myself and the other officers on shift dedicate the day to the memory of a fallen officer.

Tonight, September 10, 2004 we dedicated the shift to the memory of Police Officer Beryl Wayne Scott Jr. who died in the line of duty on this date two years ago.

When one law enforcement officer falls, we all stumble for a while, but we will carry on.

Officer Scott's sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Wayne, your daughter is one year now. As she gets older she will come to know you as her father. She often has a look that is so much you, I often have to take a double take. So many have seen these looks and are amazed she has so much of your facial expressions in her at such a young age.

You are loved and missed, with many memories to hold dear. It is comforting to know you are at peace.

I worked with Wayne at the Governor's Office of Highway Safety. I only knew Wayne for 6 mos, but Wayne was the kind of man that earned your respect and trust instantly. He showed genuine concern and would help if he could.

I'll never forget him. I know that he is in Heaven. Selfishly, I wish God would have kept him here with us longer.

Wayne, I miss you! Put in a good word for me up there, okay? You were such a great man, that I know God didn't need you to stay in this cruel world any longer.

Wayne and I played music together in High School. He was a very talented bass player, great guy, and a friend. I'm not suprised that Wayne's great character led him to a career in law enforcement. God bless you my good brother!

Wayne trained me to be a DRE here in Colorado. We had a bond during training because I too was a motor officer. We spent time talking about the job, the bikes, the freedom of the assignment. Rest in peace friend and fellow rider.....
