Paul (2393),
Being a member of the Raleigh Police Motorcycle Traffic Unit & having you on my squad has really made me realize, the love you had for your job & the Harley-Davidson Motorcycle. Since your fatal accident yesterday, I sit & think of how we met for the first time at the Police shooting on Yonkers Rd. & how we rode together in the same car after the shooting to the station. A couple of years later we end up on the same Motorcycle Squad & helped each other through the motorcycle training school. We earned our wings, You were blessed with your daughter, & you ordered your 2003 Harley set to arrive in October. It has always been known that we tease each other on the Traffic Squad. Man, the Traffic Squad as well as myself gave you hell from being short to you being a Harley salesman one day! And you always smiled & turned the other cheek. As I sat there by your side in disbelief at the accident scene, several things crossed my mind as I thought "we meet again during another stressful moment", but two things stuck out! The unlimited amount of love you had for your wife & daughter & the way you would say " SLICKY " when I walked in the Traffic Office. Officer C.R. Paul (2393) I will always remember you as a friend, hard worker, member of the 2390 squad, loving husband & father, and a true Harley man! YOU HAVE TRUELY EARNED YOUR FINAL WINGS!

May God Bless You & Your Family,
Master Officer M.E. Sharpe (2396)

On several occassions, I had the honor of working with Officer Paul and the other members of the Raleigh Police Department's Motorcycle Unit on various D.W.I. and Seat Belt Checkpoints. The professionalism that Officer Paul and the other officers displayed is a standard by which all officers should strive to achieve.

The officers of the Morrisville Police Department were deeply sadden by Officer Paul's death, but we take comfort in knowing he died doing that which he believed in.

Officer Paul, Your honorable service and selfless dedication to duty will not be forgotten.

Rest in Peace.

Lt. Allen Rushing
Morrisville Police Dept. N.C.

My heart goes out to the wife and young child of Master Officer Paul. To his brothers and sisters in blue, wrap your arms around his family (including yourselves) at this tragic time. May you always teach his child what a hero he is. God Bless.

God must have had a special escort in mind, to call two motor officers home on the same day. Rest in peace, brothers; the rest of us will carry on.
