Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Michael Janson Barwick

Brother a days doesn't go by that I still reflect on that night when my FTO, Officer Billy March and I had just chatted with you and Officer Christian then we heard the pursuit over the radio. We were behind and missed the turn north onto 25th Street and by the time we reached you the accident had already happen.

I still can't get the scene out my mind and it's 2023. So many officers on the scene and we were determine that you were not going to die in a burning car. We were relieved that we got you and Jena to safety.

Several hours later, we were updated by Capt. Tooele that you passed due to your injuries. That's still hard to swallow and I am finally talking to somebody what my struggles are since that night.

Brother I had just started in the 4th but it seem like I knew you for a lifetime.

Continue to rest in paradise, until we meet again.

Love you,

Man

I find even the mention of parole for anyone guilty of such a heinous crime appalling.Circumstances surrounding this act should be more than enough to keep this person from ever attaining freedom..Thank you..

Eleven years and I still think about that night everyday. Although I have no memories of my own I know you were looking out for me and made them get me out of the car first. I will never forget you or your ultimate sacrifice!

It's hard to beleive you left us 10 years ago... Not a day goes by that you aren't thought of. Your brothers are lost without you but I know you always show them the way... and bring them home safely... Love you forever and forever isn't long enough...

I can't believe it has been 10-years now my friend. It is hard to realize how long it has been since I can still taste the air from that night. That helpless feeling will be with me forever.

I will see you on the other side.

Mike,

I miss you my friend. I must ask you to pat David on the back today and comfort him on this horrible anniversary of the day he was taken. He is in good company with you, Nick, Bob, and all the others that have given their lives for all of us.

I will see you on the other side.

Michael - Thinking of you and your parents on this sad anniversary. It's funny how life goes on, but it takes a stand still on anniversary dates such as these. It always seems like just yesterday. Watch over your parents. They love you and miss you so much. And they have helped many others.
