My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Officer Beal.

I often visit this site after the loss of two very dear friends from the NCSHP (Troopers Calvin Taylor E.O.W. October 3, 2001 and Anthony Cogdill E.O.W. May 30, 2003).

I hope you find some comfort in knowing that prayers continue to go out for your family. God Bless You.

...Gone, but never Forgotten...

I was Mary's field training officer. I knew her as a rookie officer, and she was not only my co-worker, but she was my friend. I looked up to her as a person and as a police officer. When she was shot and subsequently paralyzed, I felt a deep sense of responsiblity. But when I spoke to Mary, and heard the resolve in her voice, I couldn't believe it, but she actually made me feel better. I went there to cheer her up, and she ended up making me feel better. That is the kind of person she was, selfless. I was vacationing in California when I learned of her death. It took me back to the first day I met her, seeing her sit next to me in the police cruiser. She had a look on her face. A look that said, I am ready to take on this world, and make my mark in it. And she did....as a Mother, a wife, a police officer, and a friend. God bless you John, Vanessa, Ian and Mattie.

I feel for the family of Off. Beall. I to am a survivor of a police officer who died in the line of duty. It is a devastating loss not only to the family but to all of the nation. Everyday people see officers putting their lives on the line, but no one knows like the family of an officer. My prayers go to the family and especially to the children. Now she will be helping guard GOD's throne along with my dad and all of the other fallen HEROS. They are now TRUE Guardian Angels.
My prayers and support.

"...you never know what is going to happen next week or next month. Not with this job. This could be your last chance to..."
- Mary's own words 6 days before the shooting.

Mary was trying to talk a stubborn coworker into singing with her at karoake.

To the family of officer Mary Lynn Beall,

I attended Police Week 2002 & heard the story told by her husband. I was very touched by his story ~ wanted to pay my respect to the family. I understand a little about the pain and the agony he is faced with every day. I lost my husband in 2001~ he was shot 5 times. I won't forget this family~
God Bless you & your children,

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Officer Beall, Especially her husband...you have a long road ahead of you. I am not too far ahead of you on this road, as I lost my husband in the line of duty, to gunfire last year. I am also a Deputy with the same department as my husband, so I can relate to you and your loss. Just know that God is with you in every step you take and will always be there for you! IT IS SO VERY SAD TO HEAR OF SUCH A TRAGIC ENDING TO A FELLOW OFFICER'S LIFE. MAY YOU REST IN PEACE. MAY WE ALL LEARN SOMETHING FROM YOUR DEATH. NEVER SURRENDER YOUR ABILITY TO PROTECT YOURS AND OTHERS LIVES. IT ONLY TAKES A MOMENTARY LAPSE IN OFFICER SAFETY TO EFFECT YOU, YOUR FAMILY AND THOSE AROUND YOU FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.
GOD BLESS YOU FOR MARY YOUR ULTIMATE SACRIFICE.
