Reflections for Police Officer Mary Lynn Beall

mommy-

your life was so short, but with it you still managed to touch so many people and put a smile on their face everyday. including me.

now that i'm growing up, i know that you're here with me. watching and helping me every step of the way.

i can't wait to see you again.

i miss you so much and i love you so much.

To the Beall family my heart goes out to you. Mary was a wonderful lady. I remember when she did a ride along on the department and I was honored when JJ asked me to take care of his wife. She was very excited and yet nervous, at that time she said she could never do that job but now she understood what her husband was going through everyday. When the night was over it seemed like she had alot of fun. It was a couple of years later when I found out that she had entered the academy I thought that was great. JJ had gone through the acadmy with me and I had alot of respect for him and I knew that she would be a good officer to have on the department. I was working the day she was shot and though it is hard to hear that any officer has been hurt I hated that it had to be her. She had a wonderful smile and a kind heart and Im sure that she has been missed. Mary rest in peace, JJ your still my friend and take care of the family like I know you will. Bailey

I find it hard to express in written words how I feel about this type of senseless act. I had the pleasure of meeting JJ Beall at the National Police Memorial Service in Washington D.C. and I was honored to be in his presence. May his family and Mary's family know all of us officers around this great country admire her and respect her for her sacrifice. Peace to you Mary, may God bless you always.

To the family and loved ones of Police Officer Mary Lynn Beall and her fellow officers with the Dayton Police Department:

On this the fourth anniversary of Mary Lynn's tragic death, I wanted to honor and remember her today. Mary Lynn's professionalism and dedication will never be forgotten, nor will her valor and courage.

In reading the loving reflections left by her family, friends and co-workers I can see that she was very well respected and is sorely missed. I hope that God is holding her in the sweetest part of his heart and the most gentle part of his soul.

I am so sorry that Mary Lynn was robbed of her life so tragically, but through her heroism and the profound sense of duty with which she lived her life, she made an immeasurable difference. May her spirit continue to soar and may her memory continue to inspire.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Mary Lynn gave to her community and the citizens of Ohio, and for the supreme sacrifice she and her family made on August 25, 2002, and the two intervening years between the day she was shot and her death.

My thoughts are with your family on this 3rd anniversary of your end of watch. You fought so hard to stay and be with your loved ones and I'm sure they realize that. Their love for you and that special place in their hearts will be there for as long as they walk this earth. You are a true hero and heroes never die. Keep watch over your loved ones, protect them from harm and also those still out on patrol protecting the Thin Blue Line.

Always in our words

You were highlighted on the website
today so I came to your page and
read all about you. It is with a heavy,
heavy heart that I read what you have
had to endure after being shot. It is
hard for me to understand man's
inhumanity to man, but harder still
how some have the guts to try to combat it. You were truly robbed.
Judging from your picture, you were
someone that had so much more to
give to and to receive from life. The
void your family, at work and at home
is experiencing must be excruciating.
Know that your memory lingers on
and we hold you in the highest esteem.

At the beginning of every shift I supervise, myself and the other officers on shift dedicate the day to the memory of a fallen officer.

Today, August 25, 2005 we dedicated the shift to the memory of Police Officer Mary Lynn Beall who died in the line of duty on this date three years ago.

When one law enforcement officer falls, we all stumble for a while, but we will carry on.

Officer Beall's sacrifice will never be forgotten.

~~~Eternally and Always~~~
I didn't get to say goodbye
You're gone without a reason why
I've loved you all of my life
and then you weren't there
I didn't get a chance to say
how much I cared
I can't even remember the tears
that I cried
All I really wanted was to tell you
Goodbye
When I last saw you I felt I wouldn't
see you again
There was a distance between us
that I couldn't explain
You wouldn't look
at me but I could see the tears
in your eyes
If you knew then
You should have told me
Then I could have said
Goodbye
So many words left unspoken
So many hearts left so broken
My love for you is forever
And that will never die
We'll be together always
Our souls are one with God
Eternally and Always
I'll never have to say
Goodbye
