I never knew this site existed until today. So many years have passed Charlie, and yet I still think of u at least once a day.... whether it be a smell of cologne or someones accent. Those little things have left lasting impressions on my heart. Although so much time has passed, I am still so very greatful for the love you gave me while we were together. I was in a very abusive relationship when we met and you truely showed me how a man was supposed to treat a woman (ie: open doors, pull out chairs... silly picnic with whatever you could come up with at the BX) You led me on a path to meet my husband, and I am sure, if we hadn't had that time together, my life would be in a very bad place. You saved me Charlie.. I am eternally greatful for that! Little Bro (Dwayne) made me an email address the night after u passed... I went out to KCIA with your flight becasue it was the only way I could be close to u... my email still exists.... only your family would know what the number means..... but I keep it as a reminder to myself, of how lucky i was for 3months to have such a wonderful person in my life
Miss u Charlie!

It is hard to believe that it has been 10 years since the accident. I will never forget that horrible day. You will always live on in my memories of you at Al Jaber and KCIA.

I was looking through my photo album the other day and I came across some pictures of you. I was staioned with you for several months in Kuwait.

You and I were usually partners at the airport. Many times I have wondered if I had been with you that day if things could have been different.

We worked in Kuwait under difficult conditions. The days were long and hot. However, because of people like you, those five months were some of the best times of my life. Rest in peace buddy.

"The Badge"

He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.

He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.

Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.

He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.

His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.

He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.

And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.

But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.

Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.

Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.

So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.

In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.

Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

charlie, not a day goes by that i dont think of you.. i really miss having you around. i miss my big brother, but i am very proud of you. i didn't know that this web site existed until a few weeks ago when mom sent it to me. when i seen your name on here it made me think back on the day when i came home from school and daddy was sitting outside the bus stop waiting for me to get off the bus so he can tell me that you was killed in an automobile accident i can't explain to you the feeling that i had. i know that god had plans for you and this was one of them. we will never understand why such a great person like you had to end your life so short but you know the man upstairs doesn't do things that we cant handle. i really miss you... i have sat here and read all of your reflections that people have written about you and i am very proud should i say to have you as a brother because you have left a great impression on all of these people and they really appreciated you as not only a person but a great friend. i just want you to know that i LOVE you and i will never forget you. you are always in my heart........
LOVE YOUR SISTER
