Scott,

Today is Aug 16, 2002. Today it rains, for the angels are crying. One of the bravest is with them now guarding the streets of heaven. Today it is raining, for the tears of our nation are shed. I know God has wrapped his protective arms around you and is holding you now. May loving hands help ease the pain that your family must feel. May God's wrath be put upon your killer.

May God be with your loved ones Officer Stewart. The people of Detroit were lucky to have been blessed by your service for five years. Your time to to enter the heavens above came to soon, and we will all miss you.
The city will never rest and may your soul be at peace. We will continue the fight against crime and may those cowards who do wrong be punished. We will call your name next May on Police Officers Memorial Day.
Officer Scott Stewart was a hero for being a cop. I never met you, but after reading reflections from your friends, you would have been a great friend, one that we will never forget! God Bless you and watch over us all everyday....

Ofc. Robert Trevino
Blissfield Police Department

I was so saddened to read the circumstances of this fine officer's murder! He was out on the streets trying to get another gun out of the wrong hands when a coward attacks him from behind. I will tell his story in roll call tomorrow to remind my officers of the dangers we face each and every day. May God bless Officer Stewart's family and comfort his fiance-he is a true American Hero!

TO OFFICER STEWARTS FIANCE, FAMILY , AND CO-WORKERS, I AM VERY SAD TO HEAR OF YOUR LOSS. ON AUGUST 1ST, THE MINNEAPOLIS PD LOST ONE OF OUR OWN. A PARTNER AND A FRIEND OF MINE, OFFICER MELISSA SCHMIDT. WE ARE STILL GRIEVING HER DEATH. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK THOSE OF YOU WHO SENT THEIR CONDOLENCES. I WANTED TO SAY TO THE FAMILY THAT YOU ARE A PART OF A LAW ENFORCEMENT FAMILY THAT WILL ALWAYS BE THERE FOR YOU. TO THE CO-WORKERS, I KNOW THIS HAS BEEN VERY HARD ON YOU BUT REMEMBER THAT SCOTT IS IN A BETTER PLACE NOW THAN THE HELLHOLE HE PATROLLED. GOD BLESS AND STAY SAFE...

WHEN WE LAY DOWN OUR NIGHT STICKS, ENROLL US IN YOUR HEAVENLY FORCE WHERE WE WILL BE AS PROUD TO GUARD THE THRONE OF GOD AS WE HAVE BEEN TO GUARD THE CITY OF MEN.

Yet again I check this sight and find a fellow brother killed by a cowardly act. To the family, friends and fellow brothers, look to each other for the strength needed to get through this time of pain. Remember the good times and accomplishments of Brother Stewart. Those memories will live on forever. I have not yet met you, but I look foward to meeting you when the time is right. Rest in Peace, you're in the best place now.
