I wish so many things were different and that we would be celebrating your birthday with you, all together again. But it isn't so. I really like to think my son is visiting with you today and you are sharing some of our really funny stories and laughs. I hope you both can watch over us and we make you laugh and smile through out the days until we can truly be together again. Down in DC for Police Week. Wik rode in the Unity Tour in your memory. It's for a great cause, raised a lot of money for the Memorial and it was emotional for me to see him as he rode up to us at the Wall. You will always be remembered, missed and loved by all of us.

As we get ready to sell the cottage, it is becoming bittersweet. While I know it's the right thing to do, there are so many memories there from the past that makes it difficult to let go. I have all your clothes up in the attic that I have to bring home and go through. I have been waiting long enough and it's time for me to get down to business and let them go. You know I won't be able to get rid of them all. I am a material person that needs to hold on to things that I can touch and some of the things I will be giving to the "girls". I thought Payton might like your volleyball shirt with "Nagle" on the back being she will be playing this year. She will only be able to wear for practice but it is a piece of you and with help from Manda, she should do really well.

Watch over us as you always do, remember that you are not forgotten, you are loved by many and missed by all.

I still think of you so often. I watch the world events unfolding, the Newton school shooting specifically, and immediately my thoughts turned to you. What would you have done to help these children? How many people would you have saved on the streets from illegal gun control? It's been a very long time since you were taken, but it still seems like yesterday I got the news... Love you Doll (Prayers for your momma too... I can only imagine the daily struggle)

2012 is coming to an end and a new year will begin. It's been a tough year as we hit the 10 year mark without you. On Saturday it will be 10 years since you were taken from us. It so hard to believe that it as been that long while I can remember it as if it was yesterday. I posted this on facebook and I wanted to post to here as well. I think I might have posted it before.

We little knew that morning,
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved your dearly,
In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you,
You did not go alone,
For part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide

We never met, but I can't help but feel like I have a strong connection to you. My husband was recently hired into the Hazel Park Police Department and as a police wife, it terrifies me to know that a routine call can quickly turn into an officer EOW. I've spent the past hour reading the previous posts and its obvious how much you are loved and missed. Your mother's love is palpable and truly inspiring. I pray that your family finds peace and that the monster that took you away from your loved ones is held accountable for his actions. Please keep watch over your fellow "Brother's in Blue" and keep them safe as they continue to protect and serve Hazel Park. <3

Jesus promised us the gift of everlasting life which we were all able to celebrate yesterday. What a joy it must be to be in the presence of the Lord, free of pain and heartaches. It's so hard to believe it'll be 10 years this July since that sad, sad day. And while you are sorely missed down here, I can't help but think of how happy you are to be up in heaven watching out for and over us.
