Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Kevin Joseph Tarsia

My deepest condolences to Deputy Kevin J. Tarsia's family, friends, and members of the Broome County SO. It saddens me when any officer dies in the line of duty but not as much as when an officer is killed by a thoughtless, selfish, cowardly criminal. Rest in Peace Deputy Tarsia. Your killer(s) will be caught. They cannot run and hide forever.

God bless you D/S Tarsia as well as your family, friends, and coworkers.

To Deputy Tarsia's family and friends,
So sorry to hear another officer's life has been taken by another senseless act of violence. No one can take away the pain you are feeling but there are others out here who care about you and are praying for you. Lean on those around you who offer their help and support. May God give you the strength to go through the days ahead of you and the will to go on. At times it seems like more than you can face but trust in God and let others help you and you will be able to make it day by day. Rest in peace Deputy Tarsia.

Deputy Tarsia, You choose the most noble of careers and walked the thin blue line. For that you will forever be a True Hero. You will be sorely missed and never forgotten. Take care my brother in blue, as you will now walk on God's golden streets.

To the family and Friends of Deputy Tarsia
Thank God for men & women who serve, especially today as most of the U.S.A. celebrated our independence. WE thank you for sharing your loved one with us and for his ultimate sacrifice. We have shared your experience to some extent for in October 2000 my brother was killed in the line of duty. Our heart breaks for every family that looses a loved one. We pray that God will give you strength and wisdom that you never knew you had to rise above this. Let those around you lift you to your feet when you can't do it anymore. And know that you are not alone even when it feels that way, your extended Law Enforcement family will not forget you or Kevin.

I would like to extend my deepest condolences and prayers to Deputy Tarsia's parents, brothers and sisters, and girlfriend.
I heard of the shooting early this morning, as my fiance is a Binghamton police officer. I cannot express how much my heart breaks for you!! There are no words I can say to help with your shock, pain, tears, and anger. I know what you are going through for I have been where you are today. I lost my brother, NYS Trooper Lawrence P. Gleason, who was shot and killed in the line of duty on 2/11/02. Larry was 28 years old. He had only been out of the academy less than a year.
It is extremely upsetting to hear that another family has to endure such an unbelievable and horrific nightmare. There will be many difficult and trying days ahead of you. I pray you find some peace, strength and comfort to get you through. What has been helpful to my family is the enormous heartfelt support we continuously receive from our family, friends, community, and law enforcement agencies. You are part of a brotherhood, a family of officers and survivors, who will be there for you. I hope it helps to know you are not alone in your loss and sorrow.
Please know Kevin is a hero for his bravery, his commitment to law enforcement, his dedication to his community and ultimately in giving his life to protect and serve others by upholding the law.
Take comfort in all the wonderful memories you have of Kevin. I know in my heart Kevin is a special person like my brother. God tends to take the special ones first instead of last.
May you rest in peace Deputy Tarsia.

I am sorry to read about another fallen hero. Especially on INDEPENDENCE Day. Society doesn't realize the cost of freedom. The families of law enforcement and the armed services do understand the great cost. My prayers are with the family and law enforcement brothers and sisters. You fought the good fight!!!

Rest in peace, Deputy Tarsia. Your watch is over now. May you fly high in your new wings and may God comfort your family, friends and department. There is a long hard journey ahead for them but I pray God's peace will fill their hearts.

To the family, friends, and co-workers of Deputy Tarsia my heart goes out to you. No one will ever understand the hurt of losing someone in the line of duty. I hate that Deputy Tarsia's family and friends will now have to walk that walk. Always remember there are other police survivors out there to walk with you. Concerns of Police Survivors is a wonderful group that has helped thousands of police survivors through their tragedy. You are not alone and always remember that. Know that your loved one is in a better place with other blue angels who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Deputy Tarsia will never be forgotten.
