Hope you had a heavenly Happy Birthday last week. 2020 has been such a crazy year with Covid, protests and politics. Enough said. We miss you every day but know that you continue to watch over us from above. Your dad and I continue to meet people who knew you, worked with you and some who were actually trained by you. I hope you know how many lives you touched.
Love you bunches,
Mom

Today, the death of Deputy Dhaliwal brings to mind the loss of you. You were a great guy from the time I met you in junior high through your time as a deputy. Wish you could have stayed longer. Gone but never forgotten.

Shane I still remember when I was behind a Stolen Vehicle that was taken in a carjacking. I was following the vehicle, praying for back up to arrive, so the vehicle could be stopped. Well the Cavalry did come and it was you, with lights and sirens. Rest in Peace Shane. You are remembered.

I am not sure why, but you are heavy on my mind right now. I remember you picking on me in school and of course I picked back. Your smile sticks out to me the most though as I am sure that all that knew you would agree with me on that. Maybe God has put in on my heart to pray for your family, so that is what I will do. I remember talking with you at our 10 year class reunion...you spoke of your wife and daughter. I do not recall the details of the conversation, but I do remember you telling me how much you loved them. I am honored to have known you even though our time was brief, you were still my friend...thank you for the smiles and laughs. Today, I will remember you and pray for your family and loved ones.

It has taken me so long to write this, because I still can't stop crying. So many nights, you, Donnie, Terry & Kevin kept me safe as I worked overnight. You are so funny and your presence is 10ft. taller!!
I miss you and you went home way to early....but you are home.

Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.

You are not forgotten today on this mournful anniversary, nor will you ever be. Thank you for your service to our community.

You shall live in the hearts of those who loved you, those who admired you, and those you helped in their times of need; thus you will never be forgotten.

Most respectfully Deputy Bennett, although I never knew you, I dedicate this day to your memory.
