Reflections for Patrolman David John Scott

Patrolman Scott,

I met your lovely bride, Trina, at National COPS chapter training, and she is truly an inspiration. She talks of you and how proud you were to be the father of such beautiful children, and her husband. You would be proud of how she has become involved in COPS, honoring your memory along the way, and helping others who have come after. Rest in peace, sir, and God bless you and your family.

Dear David,
We are thinking of you and your beautiful family on this day. Trina and her wonderful smile and your daughters are a proud and lasting tribute to your life, and your great sacrifice. People that do not walk this walk have no idea what our life is like now. We seek to honor you, your life and your memory, and those that have gone before and will continue to fall in order to serve and protect all of us.

With Love,

Today we remember Patrolman Scott and the ultimate sacrifice he gave.
To his wife, family, friends and co-workers always remember that he is not forgotten but remembered with great respect.
Some day soon all will be made right.
God bless you.

Thought that I would let you know that you are strongly missed by your family. Know that your wife is a very strong person and much of a helper to others like her. Know that we are proud of you for protecting and serving in the time you spent here on earth. Keep watch over us here on earth and keep walking the beat in heaven.

Dear David: I did not have the privilege of meeting you in this life, but I recently met your wife and 3 of your beautiful daughters, what an inspiration she is to your legacy and to everyone she meets. Her warm smile and winning personaliy will live on in your memory to help those; like herself that have given the sacrifice we hope we never have to know. May God richly bless her and your daughters.

David, I saw your wife yesterday at the funeral home of a fallen Trooper (Larkins). She is doing a great thing by going to the families of fallen officers. She is a angel on earth. May God Bless her and your family. You are sadly missed by all. It only seems like yesterday when you were a Reserve Deputy. It always makes me proud to see a Reserve Officer make it to be a full time officer. From the first time I met you to the last time I saw you, you always had a smile. Keep smiling brother we will meet again.

Dave I know you are in a better place now. I sure miss you . You are thought of often at Deer Camp. We always hunted on the same hill. I still remember you in the stand I gave you. I was there when you got your first buck...well I could write a book on the things we did. Rest in peace Dave...Daryl..aka. Boomer

There is not a day that goes by that I do not think about you. I cherish our four hour trip back from SWAT school where you rode with me and we were able to talk the entire time. You left a muddy boot print in my car and I cannot bear to clean it off, because now it is a make-shift memorial to you - my friend. I know you are up in the heavens watching out for us and your family. I miss you! God bless you! Michael

Dave, I never had the pleasure of riding with you as a Training Officer but it was a privilege to patrol District One with you. I learned so much more from you than just codes, regulations and forms.
I learned about the dedication, commitment and the heart that it takes to do the job day after day. I learned that it is more than a job, it is the life that we have chosen. I learned what it means to be an Officer.
It was my honor to know you and it is my pride to still patrol OUR district. Thank you for continuing to ride the night with those of us left behind. May God keep you as close to his side as you are to our hearts.

Dave,

It's hard to believe a years come and gone since you were taken from us. Much has happened in this time, and your family has done well. You are often spoken off, and missed. Sleep well brother...............

I knew you before I became a Reserve Officer. I talked to you on many occasions about becoming an officer and you always had nothing but positive things to say about law enforcement. You, my friend, were one of the main reasons why I wanted to be on "the team." You were always professional and always there with patience if I had a question. The Clarksville Police Department has lost one of it's finest officers and you will be greatly missed. My sincerest heartfelt condolences go out to the Scott family. Rest easy knowing that David is still with us all.....in our hearts.

David, it was an honor and a pleasure to seve with you over the years. Your reputation for being a "tough FTO" was always superceded by your reputation as a "cops, cop"! Your dedication and
perfessionalism will be greatly missed by our department. However, you should be honored to know that your sacrafice was not in vain. For years you have tried to raise the standard at our department one officer at a time through training and now, through you selfless sacrafice that standard has been raised. Officers throughout our department talk about all the time and continually make references that they only wish to be as good as you. Thank you my friend for raising that standard for now our department and our city is a much better place.

Rest in Peace.

There is an emptiness that can never be replaced because of the loss of such a fine officer and friend. I had the pleasure of working with Dave on several occasions when I was a police officer in Clarksville from '97-'99. His knowledge and wisdom were the things that I remember the most about him. He also had a great sense of humor and a great attitude about his job. He will be missed by all.
