My heart and prayers along with a big hug to Trina and the girls today and always, I know that the pain in your hearts is still so very strong. David, I know that you are so very proud of Trina and the girls and all they have done in their lives, although I hope you know that no matter what you are never far from them. Continue to rest in peace, we will never forget the heroes who gave their all, and Patrolman Scott, you are a hero.

David,
We had the pleasure of meeting your wife this past weekend . I know you are very proud of her as she carries on as a survivor. She is a very stong and caring lady. She added a special touch to the Annual Bike Ride in memory of our son Deputy Jason Scott this year. Trina's acts of kindness will never be forgotten nor will your service and sacrifice. You have a beautiful family , I am so sorry you can't be here with them. Thank you for your service.

Mr. Scott,
I know your daughter Deidre very well. She is one of my best friends and will continue to be for my whole life. You should be so very proud of your entire family. I have had the pleasure of meeting all of them, and they are such great people. They all care for others around them before themselves. I hope you and my father are very close friends. I feel like you two would get along very nicely. Keep on looking down on your family and similing!

He was nice, gental and kind.
He always spoke his mind.
He loves to care for me,
And honor his duty.
He was my dad.
But he died which made me sad.
My dad was always there,
To help me brush and do my hair.
Until someone took his life.
Leaving behind his children and his wife.
Having fun is no more.
Because of the man who robbed a store.
There has been a hole in my heart,
Ever since my family was torn apart.

for my dad David John Scott
who died protecting clarksville.
I love and miss you daddy.

I believe this may be the only time I recall the orginzation COPS being mentioned on TV. They have always been there for us.

I didn't even wait to see the end of the show.
What a beautiful family. I had to come to this site to get to know them.
You can never heal a broken heart but you can learn to build your life around it.

When I woke up yesterday, my first thought was that eight years ago today, we all woke up to an ordinary day. One instant does change your life forever, without you here,we will never again be able to enjoy an ordinary day. I miss you more than ever...

Daddy,
I don't ever remember being able to call anyone daddy before. Some nights I sit and think into the future and how you wont be there for very important events. Some times i feel like I'm older and wiser than my friends. So many people have told me stories about you and how dumb and crazy you were. Others have cried on my shoulder. Mom misses you more and more each day, and sometimes I feel like she cant go on. Its scary to think that you still see the same sunset and sunrise as me ,and that you still are watching me. I hate that we can't talk ,but thats why everone calls it a sacrafice right. Only being 6 when it happened I don't remember you:( and thats the worst part of it all. I have so many new friends and they are supportive. I get straight A's and I still dance every day. I do miss you as the days we used to spent together.
I love you:)
Love Deidre

Dear Trina & Girls:
I am a mother of a fallen officer, Chad E. Spicer. Chad was killed in the line of duty September 1, 2009. Chad was shot in the face by a person who was selling drugs. Chad was my only child but has left us with his beautiful daughter Aubrey, who we have temporary guardinship now. Your story on the show was so inspiring to us. We know the pain you go through everyday because we endure that same pain everyday also. Chad was a wonderful, caring, loving, kind, person. He loved life everyday, and of course lived completely for his daughter everyday, and as all officers he loved his work and gave 100% on a daily basis. I am sure David and Chad are protecting the heavens. I would love to talk with you sometime. If you have time just give me a call, my cell phone is 302-249-4383 and our home phone is 302-856-6709. Hopefully we will talk soon.
Take Care!
Best regards,

Trina,
Your new home is beautiful & I am so happy for you & your girls! Your girls were so cute (all bright eyed) while touring around California. Thanks for all you do for the survivors in Tenn. as well as the rest of those you reach out to. As a survivor in N.C. I know how important it is to have another survivor reach out to you. My husband's cousin lives in Clarksville now so it was neat to see what EHM did at the PD too! I'm so happy that your girls as well as Officer Baez-Santiago's children got scholarships too. Enjoy Christmas in your new home & I hope to meet you one day. Keep your head up & God bless you!

Trina and girls,

I have not actually spoken to you girls in years. I was so brokenhearted when I heard of David's death. I am so happy that you are finding comfort in the work that you do. I think you are all amazing. I still have this image of the girls dancing up in my daughters room when I lived in Clarksville, and I also remember the strong love they had for their dad, and the love he had for them in return. You all have him living in your heart now, and I hope you find comfort in knowing that.

To the entire Scott Family, we are sorry for your loss. My wife and I just saw the show air on ABC and just want to tell you that we know this happened several years ago, but the story was so emotional for us we wanted to say our thoughts are with you all! Trina, what a woman you are!!! You and your girls deserve all the blessing this life has to offer!!! I am not an officer, just a husband that owns a bussiness with my wife here in Kansas City Mo., but because of his service, your story and courage, I feel thankful for my blessings tonight! I read your poem to your husband and was touched yet again after reading it. God bless you, your girls and the entire Scott Family. p.s. If the COPS organization wants to branch out to Kansas City, let us know. Eric and Jodie Deleon, The Sawyer Room, K.C. MO.

I just watched your beautiful family on Extreme Makeover/Home Edition. I know you are very proud looking down upon them. I hope, because of you & those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, that more people will understand that we are normal people with families, and our own personal/private circumstances. I also hope that it will somehow spotlight C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors.)
Trina, continue to stay strong!

Officer Scott~

You are truly a hero and I'm sorry to hear that you were taken from this earth, your family and your department far to early. I watched your family on Extreme Makeover Home Edition tonight and I couldn't help but cry. I'm so happy for them that they were able to get a new home. You are missed dearly as was evident on this show. You truly are a HERO in my book!

Trina and Girls~

Thanks for all that you do through the COPS organization. I am very familiar with this group as I too am a part of this group here in Michigan, as a result of Deputy Shane A. Britton EOW July 19, 2000. COPS is such a wonderful organization and I don't know what we would've done without them and their support after Shane's death. I just wanted to say thank you for all that you do, and that today I have said a very special prayer for your family, for your husband/dad and for the Clarksville PD. You all have truly lost a HERO who will NOT soon be forgotten.

Sincerely,
Melissa Nelson
