Jeff it's been awhile since I last wrote. I think about you often. I am a Field Training Officer in my department. I tell all of my recruits about you and about the tragic accident that you were involved in. You are an inspiration in my training techniques. I often think of our academy days together and miss them greatly. Goodbye for now.

To the family of Jeff Davis. We recently read the tract about your son and his faith in the Lord. It touched our heart because our son too was a believer and was a testamony to his buddies and those he dealt with. We are thankful for his faith in the Lord. Our son died 9-12-04 in an accident responding to a call. He was 35 and left 2 little girls and a wife. They both died to young but will live forever in the presence of their
savior. Proverbs 28:1 Don and Linda Archuleta

I cried as I read Deputy Sheriff Davis's Story. I do find comfort in knowing that he now walks on streets of gold, hand in hand with our Father. In today's world when the word "hero" seems to be thrown around to anyone, we know that YOU are the "true" deserving hero! God Bless your loving family.

629 you are 10-7 10-42, but you will always be 10-8 in the hearts of those that knew you.

Jeff you were always THE bright light and smile in a dreary place...ALWAYS the most courteous of young persons. Many times I thought you had to be from the past because of your politeness, manners, and kindness! for, these days we live in a world of much disrespect. From the day your parents knew you "were", you were special. God gave you to us and He took you back. We don't know why BUT we always KNEW you were His child! I love you and still miss you so much! I'll see you in Heaven my special student, friend, and protector. Please tell Jesus Hello for us!

After reading all of the reflections left by family, friends, officers and strangers alike, the only word that comes to mind is WOW. What an inspiration and legacy you have left on those lives that you have touched. Every officer should attempt to mirror their carriers after yours. Officers and citizens alike should strive to live the life that you obviously did and only hope that they can impact those around them the way you have. It is obviuous that your spirit lives on even today in the hearts of those that knew and loved you.
RIP Brother.

Jeff,
I left a reflection last year, but I remembered you again today and decided to leave another one.
It's January 10, 2005; this May will make 3 years since you went home to be with Jesus. All of Columbia county still misses you so much. I play softball for the high school here, and your badge number is written on the side of my visor. Girls from teams all across Florida have asked me, "What does '629' mean?" I'm so thankful that I get to tell them the story of such a wonderful guy who has touched many people's lives. You are truly a special person. We miss you, Jeff; rest in peace.
All our love and prayers,

MLD

Jeff,
I haven't left any reflections in a long-time, but I want you to know the old CHARLIE SHIFT still misses you. There is not a day that goes by that you are not missed or thought of. The healing of losing a best-friend, work-out partner, and zone 5 partner still continues (but I'm slowly getting better) each day.

Just thinking of Jeff today. I think about Jeff alot when a Deputy advises they are 1051 from 252 and Country Club. Since that was last time I remember hearing him on the radio. I really didn't know Jeff but I knew my dad loved Jeff he would always pick on him about the Gators and Jeff would know when Dad felt bad and would go get him Subway from Ellisville and a Diet Pepsi from the Chevron. Now 629 & 113 are on the porch at the substation rocking whenever they want! Jeff was a great person and deputy. My prayers continue to go out to Pastor Davis, Mrs Davis and The Guys!

God Bless

i guess you know how many lives you have touched. i thought i was the only one that asked you what to do. sometimes i think about what you would do or how it would make you feel about me when i act. your dad comes to our briefings alot. he doesnt have any idea how it helps. he doesnt say much, but we know he is there for us. i dont think he has any idea how comforting it is. thanks for being my friend. people really cant understand what it meant to us to lose you. the new guys coming on will never (i hope) know how we that went through this feel. i search everyday for a reason. we talk about you, the stories, the night of the accident. we talk about what you still mean to us. sometimes i need someone to talk to and i visit you. thanks for putting up with my visits. your still watching over us even today. i luv u man.

Jeffster, Lord knows I'm tryin' boy. I keep turning to you for so many answers because you're not here for me to ask anymore. I look for signs, and I try so hard to hear you talking to me, and sometimes I do but sometimes I don't. I know that you don't answer because you want me to do it on my own, and learn to be strong and all I can say is I'm tryin'. It's amazing buddy, we all talk about you like your still here and in so many ways it helps to deal with it, but it's when reality sets in that we realize it's almost been two years and it just hurts, and my heart breaks. I wish I had one more chance Jeffster, just one more chance to see you and say I'm sorry. I know you can hear me now but I'll regret everyday that I never said it in person. You are an angel, you are amazing beyond belief and I stand in awe of the things you still do in peoples hearts everyday. My little green angel, I miss you....
