Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Jefferson Hancock Davis

Hey Jeff,
I haven’t been to LC a lot lately. Next time I am there I will stop and read to you. I was just thinking of you after I heard the news about Tony in Jasper. Just flashed back to that night and driving by the site daily. I haven’t been on that road in many years. Everyone misses you so much. I know you already know all of this but just wanted to talk to you here. 629 keep watching over everyone.

I will never forget him. My 2 year old daughter got out of the house in the wee hours on a Saturday morning. He and Deputy Cecil Brownfield were called to the S&S station where he stayed with my daughter while Cecil rode the neighborhood looking for where she might have lived. He found it and brought me to her. I will always be thankful to them both!

Deputy Davis, "Jefferson Hancock Davis Day" comes to mind on June 29th of each year. We remember your smile, your ability to touch lives and to make a difference in the world around you. More importantly, it is my firm belief that you still ride with each of us and may be the "angel beside us" who watches over us and has kept us safe through all these years. ...I know you have for me.

You are loved and you are missed and thank you for the example of life, honorably lived, you set for all of us.

Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.
