PPD, Prentiss, Ms.

Dennis, I never knew you personally, I heard your voice on the phone when you called to speak with my son, who is also a deputy with FSO. I know you through the many stories my son told me about you. On many occasions you made his day. He is a better person having known you. He listened to and followed the advice you gave him. He misses you terrribly. We all do.

This great nation morns when we lose hero’s, we have lost another. To Dennis’ family, God bless you the rest of your lives and know Dennis is smiling down on you three, and he will not be forgotten. He will be watching over you three till you all meet again in heaven. To Dennis find Erik (EOW 9-21-01) and you two walk together till we all meet again.

"..sing praise to the Lord, you .. his godly ones, and give thanks to HIs holy name. For his anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning.."..
Psalm 30:4,5
".. this is my commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. Greater love has one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.."..
John 15:12,13
Dennis.. you said that you and I could never really be in a conversation, as we both so very much needed to have the last word..at all times.. and it would never end. And our coffee would grow cold as we went on trying to one-up the other .. forever. I wish that were true now.
You doing what you loved to do, paying the ultimate price for your dedication to your job, and being an absolute joy to all who had the privilage of knowing you.. know that we won't forget you, but that you have raised the bar for all, to aim for. You and Erik have the watch now... I hope to not let you down, in all that i do.
You will be missed by all.

Honored brother, you shall always be remembered! We lost a dear friend, and comrade only a day before God called you, as he was killed on a traffic stop. To: Deputy Phelps
I truly believe you are my husbands guardian angel. My husband has a great memory of talking with you right before you went on your last call and he took the domestic. Little did you anyone know it would be your last time to BS with someone and if you are listening thank you for giving that to my husband. He will hold that close to his heart forever, you will not be forgotten.
To, Dana, Nicole & Kenny- May your faith continue to be your strength. We as part of the Fresno County Sheriff's Department family will always be here for your family. Dana, seeing your strength at the service on 5/28/02 has refreshed my strength as a deputy's wife. Thank you for that.
