FAMILY, THIS IS A HARD THING TO DEAL WITH BUT THAT IS WHAT MAKES POLICE OFFICERS WHAT THEY ARE STRONG & TOUGH WILLED INDUVIDUALS WHO ARE GREAT AT WHAT THEY DO NO MATTER WHAT. MAY GOD BE WITH THE FAMILY OF OFFICER JACKS AND WITH THE MANY OFFICERS STILL RISKING IT EVERYDAY THE PRAYERS OF MANY ARE WITH YOU EACH AND EVERY DAY. Julie,my sister in arms. Today you gave your life to a job that you were so good at. Today you leave behind your brothers and sisters who are left to battle the evil that engrosses our streets everyday. I never would have thought leaving that court room this morning and waving goodbye, it was forever....We will continue on through the wonderful work you did here.

The Badge

It is polished and shiny and looks so fine.
Once you earn it you have to tow the line.
The minute you wear it upon your chest
it becomes a symbol that you are the best.
It means honesty, integrity, and fairness to all.
Your life is never your own, but at the publics call.
Night or day, any hour, it makes you a mark.
It doesn't protect you from a shot in the dark.
Over the years the shine starts to fade,
but brighter still is the man its made.
It is often what seperates you from the crowd.
It is a second family of which you are proud.
So now comes your time, you can't be denied.
When you pin on your badge, wear it with pride
The minute you wear it upon your chest
it becomes a symbol that you are the best.

I was saddened to just learn of the death of Officer Jacks. Our thoughts and prayers go out for her Department, family and friends. Officer Jacks, your death was not in vain. We thank you for your service. You are a hero and we are very proud of you. Another star shines in Heaven tonight. My Department lost an officer within the past year. The suspect also shot Deputy Deckard with his duty weapon. God Bless you, Officer Jacks.

An Angel fell from Heaven today
Another Officer died
The Angels in Heaven were silent today
While the Chattanooga Police Department cried

Officer Julie Jacks went to Heaven today
With Angels at her side
She's patrolling a beat in Heaven today
Still standing on the line...

In loving memory of Officer Julie Jacks....

To the family, friends, and partners of Officer Jacks,

Every time an officer is killed someone is left hurting. When that officer is young and has a full life ahead the tragedy is magnified one thousand times. To those that love this hero I offer no explanation. Just glorify her service to her fellow man and trust in God that somehow there is a reason too obscure for us to understand. I am so sorry for your loss and all of you are in my prayers.
