Reflections for Police Officer Julie Rochelle Jacks

AS ALWAYS IT'S SAD TO SEE ANOTHER OFFICER GO..

REST IN PEACE

OFFICER K. WOODFORD
GREENVILLE PD, NORTH CAROLINA

"A hero is no braver than an ordinary man, but he is braver five minutes longer." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

God Bless Officer Jacks for her selfless and heroic commitment to the citizens of Chattanooga and her fellow Officers. Although I've never met you, I've felt the pain of losing a close friend who wore the badge over the same heart that led him to choose this profession and serve his community. May your family, friends, and fellow brothers and sisters find comfort in knowing that you will never be forgotten and that your life touched more people than this message will ever be able to convey. Rest well, dear Julie, and may God bless you forever.

Durand Dace, Dispatcher
Pierce County Sheriff's Department, WA

From your friends of the Columbia Police Dept. Thanks for a job well done and you will be sadly missed!!

Officer Jacks,

Although I did not know you, you are a hero to me.I have been a cop for a long time, and have attended many funerals. In addition, I have read or heard about many many other officers being killed in the line of duty. And each time it rips my heart out. Anyone willing to lay down their life for their community, making that ultimate sacrifice, is the true meaning of the word "HERO". Officer Jacks, your watch is now over, and you are in God's hands. Rest in peace hero, and please watch down on the rest of us who serve our communities each day. God bless you and your family.

OFFICER B. WAGNER
HENDERSON NV. POLICE DEPARTMENT

I was heart broken when I heard the news of Officer Jacks
death. My best friend is a police officer in Nashville and
every time I hear of an officer down my heart stops. The men and women that serve their communities 24/7 are the
true heroes of the world.

Thank you Officer Jacks for your service to your community,
for you are a true hero that will never be forgotten.

Julie,my sister in arms. Today you gave your life to a job that you were so good at. Today you leave behind your brothers and sisters who are left to battle the evil that engrosses our streets everyday. I never would have thought leaving that court room this morning and waving goodbye, it was forever....We will continue on through the wonderful work you did here.

The Badge

It is polished and shiny and looks so fine.
Once you earn it you have to tow the line.
The minute you wear it upon your chest
it becomes a symbol that you are the best.
It means honesty, integrity, and fairness to all.
Your life is never your own, but at the publics call.
Night or day, any hour, it makes you a mark.
It doesn't protect you from a shot in the dark.
Over the years the shine starts to fade,
but brighter still is the man its made.
It is often what seperates you from the crowd.
It is a second family of which you are proud.
So now comes your time, you can't be denied.
When you pin on your badge, wear it with pride
The minute you wear it upon your chest
it becomes a symbol that you are the best.

We thank you for your service. You are a hero and we are very proud of you. Another star shines in Heaven tonight. My Department lost an officer within the past year. An Angel fell from Heaven today
Another Officer died
The Angels in Heaven were silent today
While the Chattanooga Police Department cried

Officer Julie Jacks went to Heaven today
With Angels at her side
She's patrolling a beat in Heaven today
Still standing on the line...

In loving memory of Officer Julie Jacks....

To the family, friends, and partners of Officer Jacks,

Every time an officer is killed someone is left hurting. When that officer is young and has a full life ahead the tragedy is magnified one thousand times. To those that love this hero I offer no explanation. Just glorify her service to her fellow man and trust in God that somehow there is a reason too obscure for us to understand. I am so sorry for your loss and all of you are in my prayers.
