"...weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." Psalm 30:5
It is so sad to yet again hear of a Police Officer killed in the line of duty so that others may be safe. Though I never met officer Jacks, after reading the accounts of what happened and after hearing what an extraordianry person she is, I feel like I have known her for a lifetime. I can not begin to imagine the pain and sorrow that her family and her co-workers are feeling right now, but they are all constantly in my thoughts and prayers. Officer Jacks is a true inspiration to all of us who yet remain to fight the good fight. My heart is truly saddened at this tragic and sensless death. May God shine his perpetual light upon you Julie, and you may rest in eternal peace. We will never forget you!

My sincerest sympathies go out to Officer Julie Jacks' family and to her fiance, also an officer. I hear about this terrible act from a friend who lives in Chattanooga and who was nearby the incident. As my friend was visibly upset, I was deeply saddened by this senseless act. The Thin Blue Line gets thinner, unfortunately all too often.
I will pray for Julie and her family and for the many others whom this page memoralizes.

Another officer has fallen to a senseless death. I did not know Julie well but I had the privilage meeting her several times at court and the jail. I know Julie loved her job and worked hard at it.

Julie:
God bless you as you depart this cruel life to patrol the Streets of Gold. You were always a dedicated professional in every way. You were like our little sister here in Fox Team. I guess when the Lord needed the best officer he could find, you naturally came to His mind.

To Julie's family & friends,
May God give you the tears to cry, the time to rest, the friends to help you through each day, the strength to continue living & the wonderful memories to reflect on as you go through this most difficult time. As I read about each officer whose name appears every week on ODMP, I can't help but wonder....why so many? Why so often? Why? It is so hard to find peace inside when you lose an officer (especially a family member) and know that there are many more familys & friends who go through the same hell each week. Your loved one will never be forgotten. I pray that God will help you in all the ways that you need in the days, months & years to come.

WE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER!
Words cannot express how many of us feel inside.
When I heard the news, it felt like a part of me died inside.
Julie was a good Officer; The best of the best - trained by the best. Without a doubt, many of us would trade places, or lay our own lives down - if we could.
Julie was a friend to me, and my wife. We've answered numerous calls together, fought together, laughed together.
Julie,
Fox Team will always remember. You are a Hero. Rest easy, little sister.
Patrolman Brian Moseley #868
Chattanooga Police Dept.
Julie you will be missed by all that knew you and ones that didn't know you. Your life was taken trying to protect others. We will never forget your professionalism or the way you loved your job. I know you are in heaven looking down on us and will now protect us forever.
Sgt. Corliss A. Cooper

I saw officer Jacks on Cops this weekend. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and fellow officers. My god bless us all who do this dangerous and sometimes rewarding job. It takes a special type of person to be a law enforcement officer and I am confident that Officer Jacks was that type of person. God Bless.
Deputy Jeff Mayer

I did not know you, but your bravery and heroism has touched me as much as the valor and courage I have witnessed at Ground Zero. As a former street cop, I cant help but feel I have lost another member of my family. My heart sheds silent tears in your memory.
May all the angels in heaven hold you in their warm embrace.
FAM Tony Bassi, (former Police Officer)

As a lifelong Law Enforcement Officer, it hurts me deeply to hear of the death of another officer. Now that my wife is an officer, the pain is even deeper. We know this is a possibility when we put on our uniforms each day, but still, we are never prepared. Our thoughts and prayers are with Officer Jacks family and friends. God is holding her close today.
Training Officer Rodney Johnson
Dekalb County, AL. 911
My prayers go out to the fiance, family and friends of Officer Jacks. God has taken another angel home. Bless you all.
Deputy Brett Roberts
U.S. Marshals Service
To the Family, and friends.
I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine that would attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot reframe from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Nation, and the cause Julie died for. I pray that our heavenly father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost and the solonm pride that must be yours to have laid down so costly a sacrifice upon the alter of Justice.
