Reflections for Police Officer Julie Rochelle Jacks

We smile when we think of you and all the things you’ve done

We laugh at all the joy you’ve brought and all the battles won.

We are proud of your accomplishments and the uniform you wore

To comfort the scared, to protect the weak, for this we love you more.

You gave your life in sacrifice in the pursuit to brighten our darkest days.

You held the line against evil, and for this we shall give you praise.

We hurt because we miss you, we hurt be cause we care

Though you may not be by this way again we hope to meet you there.

So fill the heavens with song and praise and save for me a dance,

There are those who cry because they knew you… I cry because I was never offered the chance.

God bless,
Anthony C.

I was deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Officer Julie Jacks. I have watched her on Cops and thought that she was quite an officer. Her family is in my prayers. It is such a tragic loss. My husband is an officer and I worry for his safety daily. Being an officer is the most selfless job. Thank you Officer Jacks for your hard work and dedication. May you rest in peace in Heaven.

Officer Julie Jacks you were one of the bravest people that i have ever met. You always had a smile and a nice word for everyone. You were firm but also gentle and everyone that you met, you have touched their hearts in one way or another. You have the love and respect of the whole Chattanooga community. You risked your life everyday to protect our community and we appreciate that, your death was not in vain, and you will be sadly missed and greatly loved always and never forgotten. there is not a day that will go by, that my heart will not hurt from your death. We all will feel the pain from this for the rest of our lives, but we must try and go on and make you as proud of us as we are of you. We can not put into words what you meant to all of us here in Chattanooga. My prayers go ot to the family and friends of Julie, and also to the Chattanooga Police Department and the whole Chattanooga commnity. Officer Julie Jack, rest in peace and may God Bless you!

Julie, you were a great friend and an exceptional officer. Your inward and outward beauty and kindness will forever be missed. We spent so much time growing up together and learning about life together. I will miss you more than words can ever express. The world lost a great officer on monday, but I lost a much greater friend. I Love You.

My husband worked with Julie Jacks. He and I both thought alot of her. I always admired Julie.
My husband and I are expecting our first child. Julie was over joyed at this news. I hope our little girl is like Julie, strong and compassionateat the same time.

wife of Chattanooga Police Officer

Words can't express the way I feel right now. Everytime I hear a police car,and fire truck I say a little prayer because they are the one we call for help in a time of trouble. She may be gone here on earth, but her memory still remain in our hearts. We may not understand why she had to be the one to go. The Lord said her job was done. He needed another angel so she was the one offer.
My hearts go out to the family& friends of Ms.Jacks. She did a good job. Your work I gladly thank-you for. We just don't know how blessed we are.

It is so sad to yet again hear of a Police Officer killed in the line of duty so that others may be safe. Though I never met officer Jacks, after reading the accounts of what happened and after hearing what an extraordianry person she is, I feel like I have known her for a lifetime. I can not begin to imagine the pain and sorrow that her family and her co-workers are feeling right now, but they are all constantly in my thoughts and prayers. Officer Jacks is a true inspiration to all of us who yet remain to fight the good fight. My heart is truly saddened at this tragic and sensless death. May God shine his perpetual light upon you Julie, and you may rest in eternal peace. We will never forget you!

My sincerest sympathies go out to Officer Julie Jacks' family and to her fiance, also an officer. I hear about this terrible act from a friend who lives in Chattanooga and who was nearby the incident. As my friend was visibly upset, I was deeply saddened by this senseless act. The Thin Blue Line gets thinner, unfortunately all too often.

I will pray for Julie and her family and for the many others whom this page memoralizes.

To Julie's family & friends,
May God give you the tears to cry, the time to rest, the friends to help you through each day, the strength to continue living & the wonderful memories to reflect on as you go through this most difficult time. As I read about each officer whose name appears every week on ODMP, I can't help but wonder....why so many? Why so often? Why? It is so hard to find peace inside when you lose an officer (especially a family member) and know that there are many more familys & friends who go through the same hell each week. Your loved one will never be forgotten. I pray that God will help you in all the ways that you need in the days, months & years to come.

WE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER!

Words cannot express how many of us feel inside.
When I heard the news, it felt like a part of me died inside.
Julie was a good Officer; The best of the best - trained by the best. Without a doubt, many of us would trade places, or lay our own lives down - if we could.
Julie was a friend to me, and my wife. We've answered numerous calls together, fought together, laughed together.

Julie,
Fox Team will always remember. You are a Hero. Rest easy, little sister.

Patrolman Brian Moseley #868
Chattanooga Police Dept.

Julie you will be missed by all that knew you and ones that didn't know you. Your life was taken trying to protect others. We will never forget your professionalism or the way you loved your job. I know you are in heaven looking down on us and will now protect us forever.
