Reflections for Police Officer Julie Rochelle Jacks

To Officer Jack's family, fiancee, friends and colleagues,
I am sorry to hear about the loss of yet another officer. My prayers and heart goes out to all of you. I too just lost a friend and colleague on May 4, 2002. She too is patrolling the streets of heaven and keeping us safe. Rest easy my sister in blue.

Officer Sherry Law
Montgomery County Police, MD

Although I didn't know you, I have heard from several people what a wonderful person you were and can tell from reading these comments that you were, no doubt, an excellent police officer and well thought of in the community. Having grown up in Chattanooga, still having family there, and hoping eventually to return, I have seen firsthand the professionalism and dedication of your department. Bless you for the supreme sacrifice that you made so that this world will hopefully be a better place for all. Having been in law enforcement for 15 years, it is this incident, and ones like them, that reinforce the need for us to continue what we do, and not give up, as sometimes we feel like doing.

God Bless You, Julie Jacks, your co-workers, your department, and your family.

Master Police Officer Frank R. Klein, Sr

Julie,

my prayers are with you as of right now, after gearing officer down and noticed the date as May 6, 2002, it brought back a more tragic day 7 months ago when we laid Deputy Donald Bond to rest. Seeing you on the TV show COPS was a nice thing, now you are gone and during your funeral there were your friends, family, CPD, HCSD and other police officers, deputy sheriff's and security officers just to remember you. CPD lost a good officer and I am very glad to be a officer of the cloth.

I graduated with Julie, I thought so much of her, she was always so funny and kind to everyone. She could always lift your spirits in any situation. I deeply express my condolences for her family. She will always be remembered in my heart. I attended the big 8th grade Party and That was a wonderful memory that I had forgotten about until it was mentioned at her service. I will be praying for all of her family and close friends!!

To the family, fiancé, friends and colleagues of Officer Jacks, I extend my deepest sympathy on the loss of this fine officer. You all will be in my prayers. The thin blue line is stretched a little thinner with her passing. Though I did not know Officer Jacks, I am sure I know why she put on the uniform and went to work every day. She was a credit to law enforcement and women in law enforcement. The International Association of Women Police salutes her. Godspeed, Julie.

You had occasionally come to our ER to check on traffic accidents or to transport patients for us. You had the utmost courtesy and showed complete professionalism. So young to be taken so tragically. I'm sure that our Lord felt that your mission here was completed. I grieve for your families loss. Knowing that you are at the feet of our Savior I am glad for you. I am sure that Jesus himself met you at the gate. We here at the ER will miss your gentle, compassionate manner

I didn't know Julie personally, but if Brian(Waldo) cry's over her, then I will cry over her. How could a lady as nice, and sweet, and smart, and athletic, and awesome as July Jacks be taken away? God, take Julies soul, and bless her. I will forever pray for Bobby and the Jacks family. God bless #940.

Chattanooga

When i come to the end of the day,
and the sun has set for me.
I have no rites in a gloom filled room,
why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little but not to long,
and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love we once shared,
Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take,
and each must go alone.
It's all part of the masters plan,
a step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick at heart,
go to friends we know.
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds,
Miss me, but let me go.

Rest is peace Officer Jacks, you are now one of God's Beautiful Angels.

Chattanooga, please accept our deepest condolences on your loss of Officer Jacks. By every account, you have lost one of your brightest and most promising young Officers. It is little comfort at this moment, but remember: "IN VALOR THERE IS HOPE". May God bless her and all of you. MSB

This has left the community as a whole stunned,I never had the pleasure to meet Julie,my heart felt sorrow goes out to her family, today like so many I stayed glued to the TV and watched the service, many stood in the rain on the side of the streets to show thier support.
Then I was shocked to find out that one of the nicest guys I've
ever met was her fiance,Officer Bobby Moses,my deepest condolences go out to you.

I have 2 friends living in the Chattanooga area and have just learned of the loss of Officer Jacks. No words can take away the pain of the loss of this fine lady.
To her family and fiancee, may God hold you close and give you peace. Take solace in the fact that Julie was doing the job that she loved.
To her family at the Chattanooga PD, may you all continue to fight the good fight and carry on with the memory of Julie as your standard. It's never easy to deal with things at a time like this, but I'm sure Julie would want you to remember her and the funny experiences I'm sure you all shared.
All of you will be in my prayers.
Gods Speed ...Julie..your sacrifice will not be forgotten.

To the family, friends, and fellow officers

I wish to express my deepest sympathy to you. I can honestly tell you that I share in your grief having just lost a dear friend and police officer in December of this past year when she was hit by a vehicle while working a traffic accident. She was one of my best friends and it still hurts to know that she is gone and no longer will I hear her voice on the radio. The one thing I have learned from this is that I must go on and that this is what she would have wanted because of her love for the job I need to continue doing mine. I hope that you will continue on and carry her memory with you, she may not be here in body but she is with you in spirit and I'm more than positive that she would want you all to carry on and give your all as she did on this tragic day. She obviously prided herself in giving her all having made Rookie of the Year for 2001. It's officers like her that make me proud to do my job! God bless Officer Julie Jacks and all who knew her.

Deepest Sympathy,

Little Sister,

You came after I had moved on. I never had the honor of knowing you in this life, but I know many of the good men and women that I served with thought very highly of you. There is no greater honor than to have the love and respect of your brothers and sisters at arms. I will see you the next time around. Until then...watch over us...we still need you.
