As the spouse of a law enforcement officer, I know what it is like to worry about your loved one when he is out working the streets. It is a cruel world. However, the cruel truth hit home even more when a deputy and friend was killed from my husband's department 6 months ago. I no longer live thinking that it won't happen to us.

While I know losing a friend was hard for my family, I can't even imagine what it would be like to lose your husband or father. I pray that your family has found peace. His service will never be forgotten. He is a HERO>

Workers and vistors always say we don't need guns. If they only knew what we see and deal with here, and knew all the things that is kept from them so they can come to work thinking that every thing is always safe and that nothing could or would happen in the V.A. You gave your life for that noble cause my brother and you are a hero. To some of these people your are just another name on a ever growing wall, But to your fellow brothers in blue, you are a fallen brother. The V.A is not well known Police Dept but we are federal Police Officers, we are professional and we are brother. We carry on in honor of our fallen brother I never knew you but but you are one of us, a family and we never leave a fallen brother behind. we are love by few and are looked down on by most, but you still gave your life for them oyu are a true hero. To the family of this officer your loved ones patrols a new beat that God has assigned to him, and he waites for you, and his fellows brothers and sisters. Rest in peace my brother and may God watch over us all.

As we come upon the 1st anniversary of his death, may our prayers continue to support Oscar's family, both on the home and office. As they journey to Washington, DC, to view his name forever joined on the wall of heroes, may they journey in safety, and know their brothers in blue will be with them.
They say "ours is not a risky job" but our brother Oscar gave his life for the veterans, their families and employees of the Vetrean's Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
He walks with St. Michael watching over all of us.

It was sad to hear that a fellow puerto rican and a member of the federal law enforcement commmunity was taken from us. I first heard of this tragic story from my brother who is a puerto rico police officer assigned to the puerto nuevo area and happened to be on duty the night this officer was murdered. I just wanted to offer my prayers and respect to po rodriguez-reyes family and fellow workers, and also to say that just last week an arrest was made of several suspects involved in this officer's death and hopefuly justice will be served! GOD BLESS!!
