My partners and I met your sister the other day while wandering lost in D.C. on our way to the candlelight vigil. She pointed us in the right direction and made sure we, and a whole lot of other cops, got to the memorial. She told us your story along the way. Thanks for your sacrifice, and know that your family is strong.

Adam..I can't believe how long its been. I still remember working with you when I was dispatching at Henry County. I remember your nightly calls just to check in while you were working the beat, and meeting you on the side of the road to drop off a piece of chocolate cake. Your sweetness and sense of humor will never be forgotten!!!

I watched this show today on "American Justice" and it brought chills to me and my husbands very soul because we also experienced this type of bully down to the T. However, we were lucky enough to get out in time before someone got killed. In describing Thompson you have described the manners and action of our own assailant and bully. We went through almost 2 years of constant harassment, and stalking. Took this person to court every month for about 16 months straight (last Thursday of every month). The police however, did nothing to protect us, and believed blatant lies he told about us in order to make it seem like he had a reason to harass us. I'm still deeply affected by this and have even contemplated seeking therapy to help me deal with emotions of hate, revenge, and constant chronic nightmares. We too had to get a surveillance camera, and still after the police viewed it, and seeing it was obvious that we were being stalked and harassed, did nothing.
Finally we decided to sell the house and move. We moved quietly, in the dark, through the back yard in the middle of the night, because we were afraid if he knew we were moving he would feel like he won and it would get worse. nothing really happened in court, because every time we had a charge against him, he would then charge us in turn with harassment and it always became a wash. This all too started with a dog bite of my son. Right now this animal, sociopath is still living in the same neighborhood, happy we are gone and that he was able to "win" and get us out. In the meantime our family is still dealing with a lot of trauma because of these events, not only because this person was psycho, but because everyone else around saw what was happening and did nothing. We have indeed lost faith in humanity, and are slowly trying to gain it back.
This could all be avoidable if the police just simply upheld the law, and choose to see the obvious. Good people shouldn't have to be the ones living in fear as these bullies are empowered to continue their rampage on society.
I hope the NJ state police have seen this episode and have remembered us, and what we went through and maybe they can feel a tinge of guilt that they did nothing. I only hope this never happens to another family again.

Roses are red and violets are blue
Uncle Adam I miss you
Come back to me and your family
You were one in a million,
And we miss you a trillion,
We even know you made heaven a better place too

Adam, It still seems unreal that you are not here on earth with us. You were always a joy when you stopped by the ER no matter what you were bringing us. I remember all the things you did to help me with the problems I was having personally and keeping a watch out for my kids to make sure they were safe but you did understand the danger I lived with. I know that you are looking down and I still feel that you are watching out for all of us You are still here to serve and protect only with a pair of wings now. I miss you just as everyone else and you cross my mind daily. Until we meet again. Denice

As 03/22 approaches thoughts of that dreadful night are remembered. I did not know Adam personally but I know his family. No one has ever had a bad thing to say about Adam and seemed to be a young cop we could all model after. My prayers are lifted often for the Streicher family and my support is always willing to be given.

Thinking of you and your family today. I know for some the past 6 years feels like just yesterday but for others it has felt like a lifetime since they heard your voice, saw your warm smile or felt your touch. All who are close to you think of you every day and miss you dearly. Continue to watch over all of them, wrap your wings around them and protect them from harm. You have not been forgotten.
