On behalf of myself, my fellow co-workers at the Lisle Police Department, and many others I would like to offer my sincere condolences to Officer Marquez's family, friends, and fellow CPD Officers.

Your ultimate sacrifice will not be forgotten.

Police Officer William Wise

We at the IMPK9 Association and the US LEO's give our prayers to the family and of a fellow Police Officer who did so much for all of us, and the public. Great condolences go to this Great Officer's Family. The Family plays one of the most important roles in Law Enforcement. Without the Families support, we have a person, performing the role. Police Officer Donald Marquez of the Chicago Police Department, was a Policeman, a soldier, a person, and a Warrior for good. God Bless Don, and God Bless for your family.

Very Sincerely,
Gary Wolter...

Dir. Gary Wolter
IMPK9 Association

A job well done. You may rest now officer.

A Policeman's Prayer

When I start my tour of duty God, wherever crime may be,
As I walk the darkened streets alone, let me be close to Thee.

Please give me understanding with both the young and old.
Let me listen with attention, until their stories told.

Let me never make a judgment in a rash or callous way,
But let me hold my patience; let each man have his say.

Lord, if some dark and dreary night, I must give up my life,
Lord, with your understanding love, protect my children and my wife. - Author Unknown

I am deeply sorry to hear of your loss and wish to convey my condolences to the family, friends and fellow officers of his department. I recently lost a fellow friend and officer, Ofc Candace R. Ripp who was also killed in the line of duty, and I can certainly understand your pain. I miss her so much as I am sure you will miss Ofc Donald Marquez. It's not easy loosing someone this I know, but my thoughts and prayers will be with you in this time of grief.

It is one thing to read how you died. As a deputy, that is something that is never easy to read. But I watch the news tonight and saw your funeral. Brother, it was beautiful with all the honors you deserved. Sleep well and rest, your duty is done. Eventually we will all be in the same bar, drinking a beer and telling war stories. In the meantime, your family in blue will take care of your family.

My deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Officer Marquez. You all are in my prayers.
The thin blue line is a little thinner with his passing. This incident serves to remind all of us in law enforcement that we can never prepare enough or let down our guard when wearing the uniform or exerting our authority.
Godspeed Donald!

Officer Donna C. Hillier

My prayers and thoughts are with the entire Marquez family and also to the Chicago Police Department. May God give you and your family strength during these difficult days ahead. God bless and keep you!

Another Police Officer has taken the same path, as others have before, protecting the lives of the people that we serve. We do our job with the knowledge that each day may be our last, however, we do it in good company, the company of brothers.

I offer my condolences to the family of Officer Marquez and to the members of the Chicago Police Department.

Rest in Peace Brother
