REST IN PEACE MY BROTHER

Sgt. Pat Connolly
N.Y.P.D.

To the family and fellow officers, my prayers are with you at the most difficult time in a law enforcement family. May you find peace in the fact he died a hero, protecting those who need us. I lost a friend in a similar shooting in November and the pain is daily...keep your faith, and watch each others backs...

The tragic loss of this Officer will forever impact those who knew him. The impact will reflect the dedication and loyalty he had to the department and the men and women he served in the City of Chicago. Today this great city has lost one of it's finest. However those who follow his footsteps will continue to serve and protect the people of this great city. They have learned from the best.

My condolences go out to the Chicago Police Department and the family and friends of Officer Donald Marquez. I know what its like to lose a member of your Department,as I have written before when an Officer is killed in Chicago I think about my uncle who servered 28 1/2 years and was killed in 1984. I have the utmost respect for the Chicago Police Department and for the men and women who serve and protect.

Once again we are reminded that civil process is can be just as dangerous as warrant service or any other part of law enforcment. My prayers are with Officer Marquez's family.

Deputy Christopher Whatley
Denton County Constable Office #6

Every day when I check this site I pray there won't be any more officers who have been taken from us all. When I saw another brother officer was killed in the line of duty my heart sank.

Donald, may you rest in peace and know that your police family salutes you for your sacrifice.

God Bless you and your family.
