Reflections for Chief of Police John F. Connor

Your heroism and service is honored today, the eighty-first anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace

I found your picture, Chief. Hopefully it will be added to your page on this site so that we may associate an image with your entry as another hero who made the supreme sacrifice.

I wear a blue NLEOMF bracelet in honor of Chief Connor every year during police week and every December 20th as well. Chief Connor was my Dad's great-uncle, I believe, from what my Dad and I could determine. As far as I know I am the only police officer in all of the extended family since the Chief. My Dad's mother's maiden name was Brooks, of Uvalde, TX. R.I.P. Chief Connor, from Patrolman Harmon and family in Maine.

THE CHIEF WAS MY GRANDFATHER AND THE TWO KIDS LEFT BEHIND AFTER HIS DEATH WERE MY DAD AND HIS SISTER. I STOOD UNDER THE TREE WHICH HE DIED AT MY FATHERS SIDE WHO I KNOW MISSED HIS FATHER DURING HIS YOUTH BUT TURNED A BOY INTO A FINE MAN WHO I CALL DAD.
