Reflections for Sheriff-elect Derwin Brown

A righteous man will be remembered FOREVER ! And the righteous Judge of all will see to it that your killers WILL come to justice, for they too will meet Him on Judgment Day. Blessing and healing to the family of Sheriff Brown.

In the book of Revelation, we learned why Satan and his angels were driven from Heaven by Saint Michael. The fallen angels who murderded Sheriff Brown better repent, because if they do not, on judgement day they will be cast into the lake of fire, with Satan and others like them.

To the family of Derwin Brown and especially his wife who I met at the COPS conference, I just want to say "Be strong". I am the daughter of downed officer Sergeant Melvin Grigley (APD). I have observed on the news all the things your family had to endure and of course I have been there! I graciously applaud the wife of Sheriff Brown for relentlessly standing up in the face of injustice. I know that it has affected your family financially, physically and emotionally. It is a shame when family members have to fight for justice. We also are in the same battle for justice from APD. No one will ever know the toll this has had on your family. I want to encourage you to keep going on with your lives even when you don't feel like it. Keep going! Keep going! We appreciate the service Sheriff Brown gave to the community. Please know that the Grigley family is praying for you.

It's not right what happened to you. I hope you are resting in peace knowing the Dirtbag that did it will rot in a cell and then rot in hell!

SHERIFF BROWN,
IT SICKENED ME WHEN I READ YOUR STORY. YOUR LIFE WAS TAKEN BY THOSE WHO WERE SUPPOSED TO BE YOUR "BACK-UP". I AM SO SORRY YOUR FAMILY HAD TO LOSE YOU IN SUCH A TRAGIC AND DISTGUSTING MANOR. YOU HAVE SET AN EXAMPLE THAT YOU WILL NEVER KNOW. THANK-YOU EVER SO MUCH. NO ONE WILL KNOW WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN.

Sheriff Brown, you stood up to the scum who had been corrupt for years. You had the courage to take on the task of cleaning up a department riddled with theives. I am sorry you lost your life standing up for the citizens whom you vowed to protect. You courage, passion, and determination will never be forgotten. I know that your family still grieves, and the healing will take a long time to pass. Justice will never be served to the people who took you away from your family and your citizens. Rest In Peace Brother, you are My Hero.

With all due respect to all officers who have laid down their lives, this is the most outrageous crime I have seen on this website. They very people who swore to protect and serve are the same creeps who commited this awful crime. God bless the Brown family and I thank you for Derwin's service to his community.

Mr. Brown,

Your name is etched next to my fiance's at the Wall in Washington, D.C. You were not overlooked this year at National Police Week, for I took notice to your name and said a prayer for your family, friends, coworkers, and loved ones. Thank you for paying the ultimate price. I hope you have met Cole and are "neighbors" in Heaven just as your names are here on earth.

This is the worst kind of criminal activity when perpetrated by the very people sworn in to uphold the law.
Defenders should NEVER become offenders...

~~~~~The Broken Chain~~~~~
We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name.~~In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.~~It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone; for part of us went with you, the day God called you home.~~You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.~~Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one, the Chain will link again.
On the anniversary of your death, I salute you for your service and honor you for your sacrifice.
A hero never dies...
Rest in peace, hero.
I never had the honor of meeting you sir. But you have helped me in many ways by making a great cop out of Gag. He was my criminal justice instructor in Cheektowaga and he has ispired me to become a police officer even more. Like you were Ray's mentor he is mine I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart sir. Im just sorry that I will not beable to meet you when I go down to Dekalb County so I can make both Ray and you proud.Rest in peace sir you will be missed.
Sheriff Brown, I will never forget the day I met you. I was in the cafeteria at GPSTC, and you came and introduced yourself. I honestly did not know you from Adam, yet you stood there and talked with me for 15 minues. As you left, you gave me a DCSD patch, and told me, "Call if you need me". That day you graduated from the Sheriff's Academy, little did I know you would be dead 12 hours later. Although I only spoke with you for a few minutes, I could tell you cared about evey officer. Weather they wear brown, or blue, you cared about them and they are your brothers! REST IN PEACE!
It has been 3 years since that day you left us. Your courage to stand up against the forces of evil will forever stand as a beacon for those of us who serve the cause of justice. Your sacrafice at the hands of cowards is a testimony to the resolve we all must reaffirm each day to do our duty with the knowledge that this alone is the most important task we must do each day. Sherrif Brown is a hero who served his country and community with distinction and honor and we can only hope to stand in the shadow of that example.
You fought to win and end corruption in the department and, ultimately, you lost your life to the very thing you were trying to end. Thankfully justice has been served. I followed the case and was glad to see the verdict come down the way it did. Rest in Peace, Sheriff Brown...you earned it.
I was fortunate enough to have Derwin Brown as my academy instructor in 1987. I joined the Dekalb Co. police department a little nieve. Derwin was more than a training officer he was my mentor. He as a great cop and most importantly a great man.
Rest in Peace my friend
It is a shame that Sheriff Brown had to die at a cowards hands, but he will be remembered as a hero to me and my family, for the work he was called to do. God Bless you all.
