Sweetheart,
It is so hard to believe you have been gone for nine years. Every minute of that day is still so fresh in my mind, from the time we were on the phone when that call came in and you telling me you were "GOING TO TAKE THIS ONE LAST CALL".
My love for you still grows stronger.

Well Dyke, it has almost been 9 years ago that you where taken from us. I still find myself looking over at the fire station looking for your truck. I think about you all the time. You are still missed.

Cory, your father hired me when he was a Captain in Lagrange.A lot of people have told you how great your father was.Believe every word young man because he was one of the greatest people that I have been fortunate to have known. You have every reason to be proud of your dad and allways remember that he is looking out for you.I'm sure he is telling the angels how much he loves his son because he would allways tell me how much he loved you and how important you were to him.If you grow up to be half the man that your father was you will be just fine.Enjoy all that life has to give and keep making your father proud.

Dear Dad,
Today I really missed you and wished that you were still here. I have a picture of you in my bedroom and all your Police Badges. I have a big chest that I keep your Fire Chiefs Coat and Hat in, all the newspaper articles about you and all the letters that you wrote to me. I am 11 years old now and really into sports. I love basketball, baseball, and will be playing football soon. I wish you were here to see my play sports. My mom says I look just like you and I hope I grow big and tall like you were. Dad, I love you and just feel sad that you were taken back to heaven when I was only 2 years old. I know the angels took you back to heaven, but sometimes I wish they could bring you back to me. Love, Cory

Days like today I wish we could still sit around our office and "chat". I was thinkin about the day you left for South Carolina and you were standing in the office and you gave me the penny you found and said, "good luck...keep er' running smooth, Capt." and our TONES went off for a emergency call. You laughed so hard....miss you.
I think it is kinda comforting knowing that you and Jim are in heaven together. Take care of each other and please watch over all the men/woman down here.

Forgive me for missing the anniversary of your E.O.W., but I felt as though I could not continue to read about so many tragedies. I now realize the visit each day to leave a word of encouragement and hope to the loved ones of others, helps me to remember that I am not alone with my pain and heartbreak. So may I say to your friends and loved ones that my thoughts and prayers are with them now and always. Continue to keep watch over them and those still out on patrol and may they know you will never be forgotten.
