Al, Its been five years now! I heard this along time ago it was true then and now, A man is immortal as long as he is remembered. Well you are that my old friend, I read all the reflections left by friends and family. We ll see each other again in God s good time and then we ll smile. I light a candle for you every week at church. You and your family are always in my prayers. You are missed and remembered!

I just retired when this incident happened but being a police officer you never stop being one. Maybe you get older but your heart remains with the badge. Recently I begun a new job at Castle Hill Inn & Resort in Newport. A place for me to just disappear and be happy. As the God of all direxts us I have met two of the Major's son's, Ian and Cliff and grown very fond of his son's. They carry on his memory with pride but I can see the hurt but being children of the badge i am loyal to them as well.
Thanks....Mike Allen, #28 MPD Retired.

Major McGregor-
I recently attended at a SWAT Supervision and Management class in which Sergeant Thomas Rush shared your story with our class. I am our SRT team commander, and am committed to ensure all of us go home each night, be it in training, or a real incident. Your dedication, committment, and sacrifice to your team is strong, and has reached many officers across the USA. God Bless!

ACM - It is unimaginable how much I miss your leadership, knowledge, fortitude, fraternity, and HONOR! Many moments pass, but few of them do without the memories of what you have done for me and the rest of us here. May God continue to embrace you in His kingdom. -TA

Al, Years ago I was supposed to be fired, you stepped up for me and I was able to continue my career. Last week I recieved a national top cop award. I only accepted this award because of the fact you believed in me..You told me not to let you down. I only hope that I have not and THANK YOU FOR THIS AWARD....We went to the wall in DC after the ceremony...It's hard to see you on that wall BUT WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU.....JAKE
