Major McGregor it has been 22 years since you were taken from us. New England law enforcement has continued to thrive, learn and become safer due to the traditions and sacrifices you, your family, and many others have made for us. Thank you for your 16 years of law enforcement service.

Jeez Al 21 years, where the heck does the time go! I remember that time you called me and said to me I was too old to be working the streets any more! Well I kept working the streets 15 more years after your untimely going away and been retired 6 years now! I was just reading some of the recent reflections people left you'd be happy and proud, things you implemented are still being done and the lives you touched my friend what a great legacy! I'm pretty sure you be touched by the remembrances and sentiments left by people you'd known and a few you likely didn't pretty amazing Al! I've been fond of repeating a saying I came across years ago "As long as a man is remembered, he is immortal" you are that my friend! I had a wee dram or two of your favorite "The Dew" in your honor and memory Al, nothing maudlin just remembering a fellow zoomie, warrior and friend-my brother actually! Well Al till next year or the next time something reminds me about you, till then.

Someone recently asked me about you and the that terrible December day. We spoke at length about everything. It brought back all those terrible memories. But, it also led us to talk about and remember the man. The husband, father, son and friend to so many. The teacher, the leader, the man who was destined to bring order to chaos. The man who could have...and would have, righted a listing ship. For our group...you were the light shining in the distance.
Much was lost that day that will never be realized.
But I thank you for all I learned from you!
Rest in peace Al. We'll talk again on 12/27/2022 on Commercial Way.

Al

Just sitting here way out in Central Oregon, telling my buddies about my first FTO at Reno PD that turned into my great friend. Ian and Cliff sleeping on our couch, the time you and I got shot up on New Years eve and how mad Toni and Irene were when we got home at 6:00 am until they heard why. The late night post hockey telephone calls. If my phone went off at 2:00 am pacific time I always knew it was you. God Bless you Al, all these years later.
